Watching the flowers grow

“Seeing the flowers growing now,All spread in bright array,Takes me back to summersOf a long-forgotten day.” “Garden Memories”

I think back to the flowers that my family grew when I was a kid: the hollyhocks, the Japanese lanterns, the bleeding hearts, and the balsams, my grandfather’s favorite flower. for quite a few years, when we were first married, Hubby and I grew Grandpa’s balsams and saved the little seeds to plant the following year. I don’t even remember impatiens, which are so plentiful today.

***I must confess. I am addicted to “The Closer” on TNT, Ch. 32 on Boston’s Comcast Cable. the program has been on TV about seven years. I didn’t discover it, however, until about a year ago. the new and final shows of the series are on for the next few weeks, on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Ch. 32. (The series is finally ending.) I try to watch the reruns from 2 to 3 p.m. each day. Hubby has even set up the VCR to tape the program each afternoon for me. I have finally found out the names of each of the major cast members. (There will be a new series called “Major Crimes” beginning later this summer with many of the old cast members.) of course, the lead actor, Kyra (“Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson”) Sedgwick is leaving, as she requested. I am not sure if her husband “Special FBI Agent Fritz Howard” (Jon Tenney – sigh) will be leaving. Also departing are “Chief Pope” (J.K. Simmons, who does so many TV commercials) and “Sgt. David Gabriel” (Corey Reynolds, who is so good in the series). those who are going to be in the new series, “Major Crimes,” are terrific, too. I love “Lieut. Tao” (Michael Paul Chan), “Lieut. Andy Flynn” (Tony Denison), who will return to the new series as will “Lt. Provenza” (G. W. Bailey). “Lieut. Sanchez” (Raymond Cruz) will be back as will “Capt. Sharon Raydor” (Mary McDonnell). In case you didn’t know, Mary is the lead female actor in the movie, “Dances with Wolves.” I know that Hubby and I will watch the new series and will continue to watch the reruns of “The Closer.”

***I thank all those who were kind enough to send me cards while I was out with my broken arm (at the wrist area). it was very difficult to type with a splint cast. it became a little easier with a brace but I still hit three typewriter keys instead of one when the brace hit the keyboard.

***On the day before our 52nd wedding anniversary, a fairly tall box appeared on our front porch. I thought it might be flowers from Hubby’s brother John and sister-in-law Joe Ann. (Joe was named for her grandfather.) Hubby brought the box into the house and I saw that it was just for me. I began to open it and discovered that it was heavily insulated. Out came a large plastic jar, filled with frozen chicken soup. There was also a card full of “get-well” wishes from my friend Bob Sheridan. Hubby and I read the contents. the jar contained “Grandma’s get well Chicken Soup, the Alternative to Sending Flowers.” did we laugh! the directions said to let the soup thaw for three days in the fridge and then use it within a few days. I want to thank Bob for the get-well gift. it was such a fun and unique present, and quite the surprise.

***On Sat. afternoon, June 23, Hubby and I attended the Pope’s Hill Association’s Block Party on McKone St. There were not too many people there when we first arrived. my friends Chris and Ralph Whittemore and Judy Burke came in and sat at our table. Judy was carrying a basket, wrapped in yellow cellophane and tied with purple and white ribbons. She set it down before me and said it was for me, from my friends at Pope’s Hill, because of my broken arm. Ordinarily, because I have very little will power, I would tear the cellophane off immediately, but I was trying to be lady-like. I brought the basket home and then opened it. what a treat I was in for! the basket, which had two handles, was a beautifully-woven one with a burlap lining. the largest item was a golden teddy bear sporting a pink sling holding up his left arm. (Judy even had the sling put on the correct arm.) by the way, he is a “Hug Me” bear – and I certainly will do that because he has such nice fur. Also included was one of the “Images of America” paperback books, this one about Jamaica Plain, where both Hubby and I lived as kids. the book was written by Anthony Sammarco. How we will enjoy looking through it. While I am doing that, I will eat one or two of Phillips delicious Sugar-Free Chocolates that were in a one-pound box under the bear. Finally, there was a good-sized bag of hard candy, also from Phillips. I couldn’t help but get better with this lovely get-well basket.

***There are so many businesses to thank for their help in putting on the Block Party. the Neponset Child Care Center at 281A Neponset Ave. donated the music. Rep. Marty Walsh sponsored the pony rides. the Simon Sez Man was given by the Grossman Properties. the ice cream truck was donated by City Councillor Frank Baker. the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Dept. sent their Ident-A-Youth Team, who recorded the children’s fingerprints. Neponset Circle Car Wash, Clear Channel Outdoors, and Boston Wood Floor Supply paid for the Rock-Climbing Wall, which was such a hit with the kids. Other companies to be thanked are Stop & Shop on Morrissey Blvd., Tedeschi’s, the Boston Police Athletic League, Dorchester great Space, Riva Development, the Neponset Pet Center, Carroll Advertising, and the Bostonian Nursing Care Center. PHNA Pres. Phil Carver also wanted to thank Mayor Tom Menino, Capt. Richard Sexton, and the officers of District C-11, Mike Brohel, and the City of Boston’s Public Works Dept. Phil also wanted to express his gratitude to Mike Juliano, Jim and Denise King, Pam Carver, and Brian Waldman for manning the grills all afternoon, keeping the Block Party functioning so well.

***I was sorry to lose another friend, Norah (O’Malley) Boyle, on June 13. (Norah was from Doughmakeone, Co. Mayo.) I first met Norah through her sister, Mary Norton, at one of the County Mayo Association’s festivities. Mary was the first person to welcome me when I joined the association quite a few years ago. In addition to Norah, I met another sister, Grace Beath, whom Hubby knew from Jamaica Plain. All three sisters were wonderful and Hubby and I always enjoyed sitting with them and their daughters Maureen and Mary at the Mayo Association’s functions. Hubby and I send our sympathy to her husband Edward, to their children Joseph and Maureen, and to her brothers Michael and Joseph.

***On Wed. evening, June 6, Hubby and I attended an Hour of Prayer for Craig Rue at St. Christopher Parish. Craig had been on the list for a kidney and a liver transplant. the transplant surgery could only be performed on Craig if he were in good-enough condition to survive. All the time he was in the hospital, his condition would worsen and then improve. Father George Carrigg invited everyone to participate in this Hour of Prayer. We sang hymns and said prayers for Craig. We ended the hour with Benediction.

Each week, at Mass, Father George would give us an update on Craig’s condition. Most weeks, he was doing a little better. however, on Wed., July 25, Hubby, daughter Sue, and I received a phone call from Sister Elizabeth, from the Notre Dame Montessori School at St. Christopher’s, to tell us that Craig had passed on to God. We had all been rooting for him and were hoping that he would be well enough to qualify for the double transplant.

On Sat. morning, July 28, Hubby, daughter Sue, and I attended Craig’s wake at St. Christopher’s and remained at church for his funeral Mass. (All the funeral arrangements were handled by Joe O’Donnell of the O’Donnell-Mulry Funeral Home on Neponset Ave.) At the Mass, we each received a prayer booklet, with a beautiful photo of Craig on the cover. (We were saddened to read that he was only 53 years old.)

The church was more than half filled when Mass began. During his homily, Father George told us how he met Craig 18 years ago. Carney Hospital had called him to give the last rites to a critically ill patient. it was Craig. the doctors changed his diet and he improved. He came to St. Christopher’s to thank Father George for his blessing. As Craig looked around the church, he said, “The church needs some cleaning.”I can do that!” Right then and there, Craig became the caretaker of St. Christopher’s for the next 18 years. when the church needed to be painted, Craig said, “I can do that!” He painted the inside of the church beige. I was shocked that one person could paint a church and do such a beautiful job. (How he ever was able to get into the very high corners, I will never know.) Craig was also a mainstay at the annual summer barbecue and Father George’s birthday celebration, held every year in August. just before Craig passed away, he had his wife Margarida take down his suggestions on helping with this year’s celebration, which will be held this Sunday, Aug. 7.

Craig was an amazing man. We parishioners send our heartfelt sympathy to Margarida; his children Nicholas, Julia, and Rodrigo; to his mother Murielle; to his sisters Margot and Michelle; and to his brothers Duane, Brandon, and Chris. We will miss him very much.

***This “A Thought to Remember” made me laugh: “That’s funny; I don’t remember being absent-minded.”

Celebrity Big Brother star Jackie Stallone is rocking her new trout pout – at 90!

Now says Nicola Fahey, Senior Features Writer

Sylvester Stallone’s mum looks better than ever

So, I'm just gonna throw this out there… I reckon Jackie Stallone and her re-re-revamped trout pout look good. Like real good – for a woman who's 90.

I mean, before she stepped out at her son's Expendables 2 film premiere on Wednesday, the only vision that lay burned – no scolded – in my mind was the ‘Yeeeeah Jackie' who made that surprise appearance in the 2005 Celebrity Big Brother house – much to the shock of former daughter-in-law Brigitte Nielson.

You know, the one with the retina-scolding orange hair and a face that looked like it had been pieced together with plasticine. Ouch. Sorry.

But the Jackie who graced the red carpet this week seemed to have located some new skin from somewhere – she was so much smoother!

And her ginger frizz was no more (RIP). Instead, she donned dark, glossy locks, which brought out her ‘trademark' cat-green eyes. (They have always been green, right? Or are they new too?)

Jackie's never confirmed or denied having plastic surgery over the years, so there's a chance she's been blessed with some super-human genetics…

But if sources are to be believed, her youthful appearance is more likely to be down to a £70,000 cosmetic surgery overhaul, including a boob job, facelift and total body skin resurfacing.

So, she may not have grown old gracefully, and I'd hardly think it was appropriate if my nan turned up for Sunday dinner dressed in a mini skirt and high heels, but she's totes making 90 the new 60. I didn't even recoil at the sight of her on-show cleavage…

Check out the sneak peek video of tonight’s show below!

Tonight’s episode: Kim wants to get Mason a present for when his little sister is born.

Kris calls her mom and wants to know if there is plot next to her father where his ashes are lain.

Kim goes over to see Mason, she brings him a fish and he is really excited, but Kourtney and Scott don’t look impressed. Kourtney is not a pet person and she did not want pets until her children were old enough to ask for them himselves. Mason is thrilled, but it’s not Kourtney’s dream come true. Mason names the fishes Fruity and Pebbles.

Kris approaches Bruce and tells him that some of the worse things her mom went through was when her mom died and the last thing she wants is for her children to go through the same thing. Kris wants to get a mausoleum, Bruce has no interest in the topic and tells her to do whatever she wants to do.

Khloe is playing with Mason and she notices that one of the fish is dead. Khloe flushes the fish down the toilet – she needs to replace Pebbles and this is exactly why Kourtney didn’t want him to have a pet.

Kris calls all the family over to discuss what they would ever do if somebody passed away. Kim doesn’t understand why they have to talk about it, you die, you go in the ground, what’s the big deal. Khloe and Rob started making jokes and laugh about it.

Kourtney heads to the pet shop with Kim and Khloe, they get a replacement fish and Kourtney decides to get an aquarium so the fishes don’t die anymore.

At home, the girls put the aquarium together, much to Mason’s delight.

Kris, together with Bruce, heads to a cemetery to find out about options for her family. Rob walks in and really thinks the idea is ridiculous and is weirded out when it appears more like Kris is planning a party. Khloe then arrives and she doesn’t find there is any fun in being there. They take a tour of the grounds and Kim is also there. Kim and Khloe have more interest in the ducks on the lawn than they do in being at a cemetery.

Kourtney calls Kim, another fish dies and she just can’t deal with it, Kim assures her that she will replace the fish. Bruce is with Kim and tells her that they should just be honest with Mason and tell him the fish died.

Kris has now dragged the kids to look at caskets; she wants a black shiny one for herself like a baby grand piano with pearls. Kris acts really morbid, she asks if she can test drive one of the caskets and the kids are really shocked and uncomfortable when she climbs on a footstool and gets in.

Kris asks Kim, who does she think Kourtney has chosen to take care of Mason if something happens to her and Scott, she doesn’t know. Kris calls Kourtney; she tells them that it is not either of them, it’s Khloe and it’s her decision that she took very seriously. Kim is offended, she can’t believe that Kourtney choose Khloe over her.

Bruce goes over to see Kourtney and they start talking about the fish. Kourtney shares her frustration about replacing the dead fish, Bruce tells her to be realistic with Mason and he even brought her a book to read to Mason about it.

Kim is with Khloe in her show closet and is shocked that Khloe has some shoes in every color. Kim tells Khloe that she knows she is Mason’s guardian. Kim thinks she spends more time with Mason and therefore feels she is more deserving of being the guardian.

Scott is surprised that Kourtney got rid of the aquarium, but even so, Mason didn’t even notice. Khloe asks Kourtney why she told Kris and Kim about her being the guardian, Kourtney explains that Kris kind of forced her into it.

Kris sends Kourtney and Rob a bunch of flowers, she wants them to decide which flowers they want at their funeral and the whole situation is really getting to Rob.

Khloe and Rob are at lunch with Kris when Rob first calls his mother an alcoholic for drinking vodka at lunch, Kris claims she drinks it because it is lower in calories. Khloe and Rob then tell Kris they do not like the whole talk about the cemetery and the mausoleum, she has made them feel really uncomfortable.

Kim is alone with Kourtney, she asks her right out why she didn’t even have a conversation with her before she made her decision about the guardian. Kourtney claims that Kim is just too busy and that is why she didn’t choose her.

The next day, Kourtney goes to see Kim and tells her that she had to pick one person and it doesn’t mean that she’s not a great aunt. The responsibility Kourtney wanted to give to Kim is the financial responsibility for her children.

The family gets together to celebrate Kim and her life, Rob reveals that he got a tattoo on his arm of his mom and she is delighted.

$100.00 a Breast: Woman has reconstruction surgery after getting underground silicone breast injections in hotel room

DALLAS—

The headlines are everywhere–and most don’t have happy endings.

a woman injected with cement and tire sealant.

Others looking for a better butt—by getting injected with silicone–it killed a British woman who had the procedure done in a Philadelphia hotel room.

Here in Dallas ‘Sandi’–not her real name–has her own terrible story.

“I wanted cleavage,” Sandi recalled. “you know in the cleavage area and I was told she knew a girl who did shots.”

Sandi went to Atlanta where for $200.00 she had silicone injected into each breast by a woman–who was born a man–and insisted she was a medical assistant.

Sandi wasn’t the only customer in the Atlanta hotel room that day—but she knew almost immediately she’d made a mistake.

“I noticed a little bubbling around my breast area and from there it was just like, pain,” Sandi said.

Soon after she noticed swelling under her arms–imaging would later show globs of silicone granuloma, tumors and masses in her breasts that extend to her armpits.

The treatment is sobering and heartbreaking.

“Now,” Sandi said with tears streaking down her cheeks. “I’m having to have my breasts amputated because I made a dumb decision just wanting to get cleavage.”

Forest Park Medical Center Plastic surgeon David Azouze prepared Sandi for what would be a three hour bilateral mastectomy.

Dr. Azouze was able to save the nipple area and remove the soft tissue and silicone deposits.

“With silicone injections, she had multiple injections all over the breast to try to as a filler, try to increase the size of her breast,” Dr. Azouze said. “of course that didn’t happen and she has lumpy, bumpy breasts which of course are a big problem on many levels.”

Dr. Azouze said Sandi isn’t alone–a lot of women make the exact same mistake, lured in by incredibly low prices and way too many promises—he’s seen other patients with complications after they’ve received underground procedures.

“Unfortunately a lot of people think it’s okay, this is really easy, all I do is get a few injections and then I get my breasts augmented and it only cost me $200.00,” Dr. Azouze said. “They don’t realize it could be a lifetime of grief and that could end up with a double mastectomy and reconstruction which is not an easy procedure to go through.”

Dr. Azouze is gave Sandi the look that she hoped to get in that Atlanta hotel room three years ago–and Sandi is offering this life lesson.

“Just don’t do it,” Sandi said. “It’s not worth it.”

Explore Plastic Surgery – Dr. Barry Eppley » Blog Archive » Treatment Options for Dark Circles Under The Eyes

Dark circles under the eyes is a frequent request for treatment by patients coming in to see for many different issues. The plethora of available treatments on the internet from vanishing and bleaching creams to laser surgery is a testament to the commonality of the problem. it also suggests that most of these treatments are not effective because they simply don’t work or are used on the wrong type of dark circle problem.

Diagnosing which of these causes of dark circles is obviously critical to selecting what may work. in general, dark circles are hard to treat and there is no magical solution. The goal of dark circle treatment should be improvement but do not expect a complete cure. (no matter what the marketing hype says)

If the problem is thin skin, there is little that can be done to substantially thicken it. Vitamin A and C creams and pulsed light treatments may provide some improvement over time. but these are really unlikely to make significant improvements. However, camouflaging the dark with concealers or mineral makeup-based foundations is the most effective and cost efficient approach for thin skin.

Hyperpigmentation is a common cause  and is often seen when substantial lower eyelid bags are present as well. it is a very common cause in dark-skinned patients. When large eyelid bags are present, standard lower blepharoplasty (eyelid tuck) should first be done. this will not make all the hyperpigmentation go away but it will help. A secondary chemical peel, such as 25% or 35% TCA can also be done although there is the risk of causing hyperpigmentation by doing a chemical peel also in some patients. The key is to use melaniin-suppressing creams before and after a chemical peel.  Lower eyelid hyperpigmentation can also be treated by topical creams that contain retin A (exfoliating) and hydroquinone (bleaching) agents. My current favorite is TriLuma cream (available by prescription) because it contains Retin A, hydroquinone, and steroids all in one. this has to be used for several months before any improvement can be expected. in very resistant hyperpigmentation, the use of intense pulsed light (BBL, Broad Band Light) may also be tried but the power setting should be low and careful eye protection done. it will require several BBL treatments to get much improvement.

There are also some cases of dark circles that are due to leaching of blood products (hemosiderin) into the thin lower eyelid skin. Once has to look very carefully to separate this from hyperpigmentation. Topical Vitamin K or creams that contain arnica may be helpful. Pulsed light that is filtered for 560 or 590nm wavelengths may also be effective.

Deep set or hollow eyes as a cause of dark circles requires a surgical solution. The bone on the lower rim of the eye is deficient or flat causing the lower eyelid to indent in. this pulls the lower eyelid in, exaggerating the natural shadowing effect. The area under the eyelid must be built out using either fat grafts, orbital rim implants or fat transposition. Lower eyelid fat transposition is the simplest and most reliable method. by releasing fat from underneath the eye and bringing it out over the rim of the bone, the lower eyelid is better supported and the depth of the hollow is decreased. (as well as the shadowing) Implants also bulk up the bone but the thin skin of the lower eyelid may make it possible to feel or even see them. Free fat grafts are soft and pose no potential problems of infection or feeling them but they are unreliable as to how much will survive after surgery.

The arcus deformity is an often undiagnosed dark circle cause. it is caused by an abnormal attachment of the lower eyelid to the bone which makes the lower half of the eyelid dip in while the upper half is loose and filled with fat which bulges out from under the eye. as one ages, this lower eyelid look worsens creating darker and darker circles. this arcus deformity can be released through a transconjunctival (inside the lower eyelid) approach, allowing fat to balloon out into the dark circle area. in some cases, fat grafts can be added as well to further bulk up the area.

As the many causes of dark circles suggest…there is no one magical solution. That is why there are some many products and methods out there. The key is to knowing why the dark circle are there. Otherwise one is throwing darts at a target…blindly. Improvement in dark circles of the lower eyelid is possible but identifying the cause is critical…something internet products and home remedies do not do.

Whitley man hid cartel loot from feds

FORT WAYNE – Days after being caught with a suitcase full of money allegedly headed to a Mexican drug cartel this spring, a local businessman was charged with a federal felony.

But the federal case against Duane DuCharme remained sealed until this month, when the 70-year-old Whitley County man pleaded guilty to the charge – misprision of a felony, which means that DuCharme had full knowledge a crime was being committed and did not notify authorities and took steps to conceal the crime.

In this case, DuCharme admitted hiding money and property at his home and the home of a relative when he knew the money and property were the proceeds of unlawful activities, according to court documents.

DuCharme also knew that another person intended to turn over the money from unlawful activities to federal authorities and despite this knowledge did not come forward to authorities with this information.

The murky-sounding charge carries a term of imprisonment of no more than three years in prison, and a fine no more than $250,000 or twice the amount of the gross gain to the defendant, according to court documents.

DuCharme waived his right to indictment, allowing the case to proceed on the criminal information filed by the government.

DuCharme founded DuCharme, McMillen & Associates in 1973, sold the company in the mid-1990s but stayed on as chairman of the board until 2006. The company has an office in Fort Wayne.

Online property records indicate DuCharme owns a home in Whitley County, as well as property and businesses in Florida.

Records also show a horse farm in his name, as well as a number of other companies such as Allograft Innovations, a company founded in 2006 that furnishes grafts for surgery. DuCharme’s LinkedIn page lists him as the chief executive officer of Allograft and another tissue bank, New Life Generation/Medigraft in Indianapolis.

The federal government’s criminal case against DuCharme, according to public records, began may 23 – a few weeks after the silver-haired businessman was picked up outside an office supply store in Plano, Texas, with a trunk full of cash.

Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration had been watching two vehicles outside of a storage unit in Plano on April 13. One of the vehicles had Indiana license plates and was driven by an Indiana man associated with DuCharme and his wife. The other vehicle, an Impala with Texas license plates, was driven by DuCharme, according to court documents.

Agents watched the men speak, saw one of the men put a blue plastic tote in the trunk of the Impala and then saw DuCharme drive to the nearby office supply store. Inside the store, he bought a shipping box.

When he emerged, agents were waiting at the car, asked him to open the trunk and found the plastic tote filled with bundles of cash, “in a manner that is consistent with the way drug traffickers wrap currency prior to transporting the currency to Mexico,” according to court documents.

DuCharme told the agents he was in town on business and picked up the money to buy stock.

DuCharme’s associate told agents a more expanded version, admitting to giving DuCharme $500,000 in cash, which was placed in the plastic tub and then transferred at the storage area. The man said he explained to DuCharme the money was from the sale of illegal drugs, and DuCharme had agreed to buy stock to launder the money, according to court documents.

DuCharme’s associate still does not appear to have been charged with any crime at the federal or state level, but is also mentioned in another federal criminal case, one involving the conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

In that case, property deeded to DuCharme’s associate, which housed a company affiliated with DuCharme, was seized by federal prosecutors and forfeited after a guilty plea.

This month, another man, Eric Pieper, admitted to conspiring in a marijuana trafficking ring that moved more than 16,000 kilograms of marijuana into the Indianapolis area, as well as paying off various co-conspirators, according to court documents.

Tax records from 2010 list the man picked up with DuCharme as the chief operating officer of NewLife Generations, at 9755 Westpointe Drive in Indianapolis. The records also list DuCharme and his wife as the directors.

Exercise, Cosmetic Surgery and Revitol Scar Removal, Three Effective Methods for Removing Skin Marks

Stretch marks, a common problem of the common man, it’s quite easy to acquire but not so easy to remove. Exactly where do we get these skin mark problems and what are the known solutions for them? Read all that follows for some of our findings from our studies and advices that you may and should follow. The most common way to get stretch marks would be if you have just undergone childbirth. The woman’s skin stretches during those nine months time that her baby kept on growing on her womb. The body adapts to that baby’s growth and stretches to accommodate the growing baby that after childbirth the woman’s body will ultimately sag that is the unavoidable price of pregnancy. The other primary reason for stretch marks to appear in a human body is if, for a long time, that person was an obese. if an obese person got the will and courage to really slim himself down then his body will lose a lot of weight but will nonetheless also acquire stretched skin problems. having stretch marks rather than being obese is much better actually but if you know some solutions to also remove those stretch marks then so much the better right? Revitol scar removal, cosmetic surgery and exercise can help you reach that goal.

Cosmetic surgery through either liposuction or laser surgery is one surefire way to remove those nasty skin marks. With the doctors help he can tell you which parts of your skin to tighten or tucked in, he will show you the process which will most of the time be painless and you will feel a lot more safer to undergo surgery after that. Arm Lift Method That Leaves No Visible Scars

If your goal is to be proud of the way your arms look, and exercising doesn’t seem to work, there is a solution for you. An arm lift is a great way to get rid of excess flab, and modern technology allows minimal or no scarring. Finding out about this type of surgery could change your life, or at least the way you feel about your arms.

While lifts of any kind are not new, the types that do not cause scars are. with the typical arm lift, the only way to see results involves cutting a long line on the affected area that does not go away. While the resulting tighter look is what you seek, the huge scars are hard to hide. they are obvious signs that you had help obtaining your particular appearance.

If you want to be discreet about the surgery, the newer mini arm tuck allows the doctor to hide the scar easily within your armpit. the excess skin will be pulled up and tucked into the armpit, usually leaving a small scar in the shape of a half moon. While there is scarring involved, most people will never see it unless you point it out to them.

Great candidates for this procedure include people who are around the ideal weight for their height. if you are looking to lose pounds of fat from your arms, you might be better served by liposuction. the arm lift procedure is best for those with extra flab that refuses to go away due to aging, or those who have lost a lot of weight and have excess skin.

The procedure typically takes about an hour, and is outpatient. You can be back at work in about three days. You won’t be able to work out your arms for about two months in most cases, but you can perform lower body exercises after about a week. As long as you follow the directions your doctor provides, you should heal well and be left with little to no visible scarring.

Some people shy away from plastic surgery because they do not want to be left with scars. they would prefer that it not be obvious that they had some help with their appearance.

However, those who take advantage of operations like the arm lift are rewarded with younger looks, and now they do not have to trade their improved appearance for obvious scars. if the idea of scarring is the only thing stopping you from getting the arms you have always wanted, give this type of surgery another chance.
