Three Ways That Plastic Surgery Can Help

Do you struggle with your self-image? are you uncomfortable in a public setting because you are unhappy with the way you look? if so, then plastic surgery might be something that you should consider. having one of these procedures can be extremely beneficial, but it is important to be sure that it is the best option for you. there are a number of ways that it can help. it can lead to improved self-confidence, help you to have more fulfilling relationships, and improve your overall quality of life.

Improved self Confidence

The first way that plastic surgery can help you is by improving your self-confidence. if you are unhappy with the way you look, this can be extremely detrimental to the way that you feel about yourself as a whole. it can be difficult to be yourself in social settings– people who are unhappy with their physical appearance tend to be more reserved around others. Improving one’s appearance can lead to increased self-esteem, and this is something that can have benefits in other areas of one’s life.

More Fulfilling Relationships

Because plastic surgery can increase one’s self-esteem, it can also lead to more fulfilling relationships with others. when a person is confident with him or herself, this allows the person to be more relaxed and genuine around others. this comfort in social settings can often lead one to have more fulfilling interpersonal relationships. Relationships are one of the key components to human happiness, and when one is satisfied with his or her relationships this can lead to benefits in other areas of one’s life as well.

Better Quality of Life

Finally, plastic surgery can lead to an increased quality of life in a more general sense as well. by giving one an increased sense of self-confidence and improved interpersonal relationships, a successful procedure can improve one’s outlook on life more generally. the positive outlook can lead to increased happiness and satisfaction in all areas of life. it is also generally true that people who are happy with their looks and a high degree of confidence tend to be more successful at their jobs, and this is something that can greatly improve one’s quality of life as well.

All in all, plastic surgery can help a person in several ways. it can lead to improved self-confidence, more fulfilling interpersonal relationships, and an improved quality of life. if you decide that this is the best option for you, then you are sure to be happy with the results.

Armstrong facing loss of 7 Tour de France titles

AUSTIN, Texas — never one to back away from a fight, Lance Armstrong is finally giving in and the cost of quitting is steep: his seven Tour de France titles could be gone as soon as Friday. The superstar cyclist, whose stirring victories after his comeback from cancer helped him transcend sports, chose not to pursue arbitration in the drug case brought against him by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. That was his last option in his bitter fight with USADA and his decision set the stage for the titles to be stripped and his name to be all but wiped from the record books of the sport he once ruled.Travis Tygart, USADA’s chief executive, left no doubt that was the next step. he said Armstrong would lose the titles as soon as Friday and be hit with a lifetime ban, even though he is retired and turning 41 next month.Tygart said the UCI, the sport’s governing body, was “bound to recognize our decision and impose it” as a signer of the World Anti-Doping Code.”They have no choice but to strip the titles under the code,” he said.On Friday, the International Cycling Union said not so fast. The UCI, which had backed Armstrong’s legal challenge to USADA’s authority, cited the same World Anti-Doping Code in saying that it wanted the USADA to explain why Armstrong should lose his titles. The UCI said the code requires this in cases “where no hearing occurs.”Armstrong clearly knew his legacy would be blemished by his decision. he said he has grown tired of defending himself in a seemingly never-ending fight against charges that he doped while piling up more Tour victories than anyone ever. he has consistently pointed to the hundreds of drug tests that he passed as proof of his innocence during his extraordinary run of Tour titles from 1999 to 2005.”There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, ‘Enough is enough.’ for me, that time is now,” Armstrong said Thursday night, hours before the deadline to enter arbitration. he called the USADA investigation an “unconstitutional witch hunt.”"I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999,” he said. “The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense.”USADA treated Armstrong’s decision as an admission of guilt, hanging the label of drug cheat on an athlete who was a hero to thousands for overcoming life-threatening testicular cancer and for his foundation’s support for cancer research. Armstrong could lose other awards, event titles and cash earnings, and the International Olympic Committee might look at the bronze medal he won in the 2000 Games.”It is a sad day for all of us who love sport and athletes,” Tygart said. “It’s a heartbreaking example of win-at-all-costs overtaking the fair and safe option. There’s no success in cheating to win.”Johan Bruyneel, Armstrong’s longtime coach, said the Texan is a victim of a legal process run amok.”Lance has never withdrawn from a fair fight in his life so his decision today underlines what an unjust process this has been,” Bruyneel wrote on his personal website on Friday.while Tygart said the agency can strip the Tour titles, Armstrong disputed that, insisting his decision is not an admission of guilt but a refusal to enter an arbitration process he believes is unfair.”USADA cannot assert control of a professional international sport and attempt to strip my seven Tour de France titles,” he said. “I know who won those seven Tours, my teammates know who won those seven Tours, and everyone I competed against knows who won those seven Tours.”Armstrong’s comments notwithstanding, USADA has exercised its power to sanction athletes and strip their results regularly. its website shows that it has issued 21 sanctions in 2012 so far in sports ranging from cycling to track to boxing to judo, with 17 of the athletes losing their results. At the headquarters of Tour organizer ASO outside of Paris on Friday, spokesman Fabrice Tiano said Tour director Christian Prudhomme was not immediately available for comment because he was in urgent meetings about the case.Armstrong walked away from the sport for good in 2011 without being charged following a two-year federal criminal investigation into many of the same accusations he faces from USADA.The federal probe was closed in February, but USADA announced in June it had evidence Armstrong used banned substances and methods – and encouraged their use by teammates. The agency also said it had blood tests from 2009 and 2010 that were “fully consistent” with blood doping.Included in USADA’s evidence were emails written by Armstrong’s former U.S. Postal Service teammate Floyd Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after a positive drug test. Landis’ emails to a USA Cycling official detailed allegations of a complex doping program on the team.USADA also said it had 10 former Armstrong teammates ready to testify against him. Other than suggesting they include Landis and Tyler Hamilton, both of whom have admitted to doping offenses, the agency has refused to say who they are or specifically what they would say.USADA maintains that Armstrong used banned substances as far back as 1996, including the blood-booster EPO and steroids, as well as blood transfusions.”There is zero physical evidence to support (the) outlandish and heinous claims,” Armstrong said. “The only physical evidence here is the hundreds of (doping) controls I have passed with flying colors.”Armstrong sued USADA in Austin, Texas, where he lives, in an attempt to block the case and was supported by the UCI. a judge threw out the case on Monday, siding with USADA despite questioning the agency’s pursuit of Armstrong in his retirement.”USADA’s conduct raises serious questions about whether its real interest in charging Armstrong is to combat doping, or if it is acting according to less noble motives,” such as politics or publicity, U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks wrote. The ultra-competitive Armstrong still had the option to press his innocence in arbitration, which would have included a hearing during which evidence against him would have been presented. but the cyclist has said he believes most people have already made up their minds about whether he’s a fraud or a persecuted hero.and so he did something virtually unthinkable for him: he quit before a fight was over, a stunning move for an athlete who built his reputation on not only beating cancer, but forcing himself through grueling offseason workouts no one else could match, then crushing his rivals in the Alps and the Pyrenees.”Today I turn the page. I will no longer address this issue, regardless of the circumstances,” he said. “I will commit myself to the work I began before ever winning a single Tour de France title: serving people and families affected by cancer, especially those in underserved communities.”Although he had already been crowned a world champion and won individual stages at the Tour de France, Armstrong was still relatively unknown in the U.S. until he won the epic race for the first time in 1999. it was the ultimate comeback tale: When diagnosed with cancer, doctors had given him less than a 50 percent chance of survival before surgery and brutal cycles of chemotherapy saved his life.Armstrong’s riveting victories, his work for cancer awareness and his gossip-page romances with rocker Sheryl Crow, fashion designer Tory Burch and actress Kate Hudson made him a figure who transcended sports.his dominance of the Tour de France elevated the sport’s popularity in the U.S. to unprecedented levels. his story and success helped sell millions of the “Livestrong” plastic yellow wrist bracelets, and enabled him to enlist lawmakers and global policymakers to promote cancer awareness and research. his Lance Armstrong Foundation has raised nearly $500 million since its founding in 1997.Jeffery C. Gervey, chairman of the foundation, issued a statement of support.”Faced with a biased process whose outcome seems predetermined, Lance chose to put his family and his foundation first,” Gervey said. “The leadership of the Lance Armstrong Foundation remain incredibly proud of our founder’s achievements, both on and off the bike.”Sponsor Nike also backed Armstrong.”Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position,” the company said in a statement. “Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors.”Questions surfaced even as Armstrong was on his way to his first Tour victory. he was leading the 1999 race when a trace amount of a banned anti-inflammatory corticosteroid was found in his urine; cycling officials said he was authorized to use a small amount of a cream to treat saddle sores.after Armstrong’s second victory in 2000, French judicial officials investigated his Postal Service team for drug use. That investigation ended with no charges, but the allegations kept coming.others close to Armstrong were caught up in the investigations, too: Bruyneel, the coach of Armstrong’s teams, and three members of the medical staff and a consultant were also charged. Bruyneel is taking his case to arbitration, while two medical team staffers and consulting doctor Michele Ferrari didn’t formally contest the charges and were issued lifetime bans by USADA. Ferrari later said he was innocent.Armstrong was criticized for his relationship with Ferrari, who was banned by Italian authorities over doping charges in 2002. Former personal and team assistants accused Armstrong of having steroids in an apartment in Spain and disposing of syringes that were used for injections. In 2004, a Dallas-based promotions company initially refused to pay him a $5 million bonus for winning his sixth Tour de France because it wanted to investigate allegations raised by media in Europe. Testimony in that case included former teammate Frankie Andreu and his wife, Betsy, saying Armstrong told doctors during his 1996 cancer treatments that he had taken a cornucopia of steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. Two books published in Europe, “L.a. Confidential” and “L.a. Official,” also raised doping allegations and, in 2005, French magazine L’Equipe reported that retested urine samples from the 1999 Tour showed EPO use.Armstrong fought every accusation with denials and, in some cases, lawsuits against media outlets that reported them.he retired in 2005 and almost immediately considered a comeback before deciding to stay on the sidelines – in part because he didn’t want to keep answering doping questions. three years later, Armstrong was 36 and itching to ride again. he came back to finish third in the 2009 Tour de France.Armstrong raced again in 2010 under the cloud of the federal investigation. Early last year, he quit for good, making a brief return as a triathlete until the USADA investigation shut him down.”He had a right to contest the charges,” WADA President John Fahey said after Armstrong’s announcement. “He chose not to. The simple fact is that his refusal to examine the evidence means the charges had substance in them.”

Still having the time of my life 25 years on: Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey on Patrick Swayze, dancing and her "nose job from hell"

It was one of the all-time iconic movies, with one of the most famous soundtracks…

And 25 years on Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey says she’s still having the time of her life – thanks to the film.

“I mean, I wish anytime I went into a nice restaurant and asked for a table they said, ‘Well I’m sure you don’t want one in the corner’,” she joked at an anniversary event in Los Angeles.

“But only a fool would be tired of talking about a movie that has given this many people this much pleasure for this many years.

“That would be very ungrateful.  That’s not me and I am just moved to tears by being in the presence of this music and celebrating it.”

Jennifer played Frances “Baby” Houseman alongside Patrick Swayze (Johnny Castle) in the movie, based around a teenager’s first holiday romance.

At the time she was 27.

The soundtrack included the smash hits Hungry Eyes and Time of my Life.

Plus the memorable Swayze line: “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.”

Flirty dancing: with Patrick Swayze in Dirty DancingReuters

But after the phenomenal success of Dirty Dancing, Jennifer slipped into relative obscurity.

In 1989 she had plastic surgery on her distinctive nose, which she blames for adversely affecting her career.

“I went into the operating room a celebrity and came out anonymous,” she said.

“It was the nose job from hell. I’ll always be this once-famous actress nobody recognises because of a nose job.”

She went on to appear in guest spots in Friends in 1995 and House in 2010, as well as TV movies A Case for Murder and Eyes of a Witness.

In 2001 she married Iron Man actor Clark Gregg, 50, and the couple have a daughter Stella, 10.

Her most successful recent role saw her play herself, in the 2010 US version of Dancing with the Stars, which she won.

Jennifer – who still goes to dancing lessons once a week – said that Swayze’s death from cancer in 2009 has made her appreciate her life even more.

“I am happy and I am grateful to be alive,” she said.

“Because we don’t know how long we’ve got, right? so grab as much joy as possible.”

Why Botox Is Safer Than Surgery

If you are unhappy with your appearance because you have wrinkles or frown lines, you may be considering plastic surgery. many individuals who undergo cosmetic surgery report being thrilled with the results. they report an increased sense of self-confidence and a more positive outlook on life. although there are many benefits to having plastic surgery, there are downsides as well that should be considered. Any surgery, even a cosmetic one, has risks. although rare, cosmetic surgery complications can cause serious injury to the patient. Additionally, patients who undergo surgery will have to endure a potentially painful recovery period. some major defects need to be corrected through surgery, but other facial imperfections can be treated through less invasive methods. instead of scheduling a facelift in order to get rid of your unsightly facial wrinkles, consider botox instead. Botox is a safe alternative to surgery and does not significantly disrupt a patient’s life.

Because botox is not an invasive procedure, it is much safer than surgery. Surgical patients are at risk for deadly infections such as MRSA. Additionally, surgical procedures usually require that the patient undergo sedation. An adverse reaction to general anesthesia can be fatal. Because botox patients only receive local or topical anesthesia, this procedure is considered much safer than other cosmetic treatments. The safety of botox has been confirmed by the food and drug administration, which has approved the use of this drug for several medical and cosmetic treatments. while some individuals do experience an allergic reaction to the substance, this is uncommon. When you undergo botox, a certified plastic surgeon will inject the problem area with a solution that will smooth out your wrinkles and firm your face. some stiffness and swelling can occur, but these symptoms typically dissipate within a few days of the procedure. The effects of botox are not permanent, but the procedure can be repeated as necessary. you can expect the results of botox to last for up to nine months. Botox is particularly effective on frown lines.

Before you decide whether or not botox is right for you, do plenty of research to find out the risks and benefits. you will feel most comfortable receiving botox treatments from a cosmetic surgeon you can trust, so picking the right doctor is important. Botox injections are the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure, and millions of men and women have received this treatment since its approval by the FDA. If you are sick of facial wrinkles that make you look tired and old, join the growing number of individuals who have improved their appearance with botox injections. With safe botox injections, you can enjoy a younger looking face without having to worry about the hazards of traditional cosmetic surgery.

COPY CAT!!! Somebody PLEASE TELL Kanye West Fredro Starr Did The Whole “Perfect Bitch” Song 10 Years Ago!!!

Well, well, well!

Just when you think Kanye West is one of the most innovative Hip Hop artists on the planet…you find out the Chicago-bred MC is a copy-catting theme stealer just like the other rap cats!!!

This week Kanye West made a LOT of waves when he Tweeted:

“I wrote the song Perfect Bitch about Kim.”

The MC was referring to his latest romance with reality star and Hollywood Player Kim Kardashian.  everybody jumped on that Tweet and the Internet buzzed about Kanye calling Kim K.  his “perfect b*tch” and Kim being flattered by the compliment.   we were all ready to promote the f*ck out of “Perfect B*tch” just like the other media holding Kanye’s nutz…UNTIL a little birdie pointed us to another song CONVENIENTLY TITLED “Perfect Bitch.”  that song was released 10 years ago by low-key rap artist/actor Fredro Starr (Moesha fans will remember him).

“Perfect B*tch” by Fredro Starr  uses the exact same title and concept as West’s 2012 single by the same name.  before you dismiss our comparison of the 2 songs AND OUR decision to label our Chicago brother Kanye West…a “COPY CAT”, peep the lyrics to Starr’s version of the profane-titled song:

If I could make the perfect b-tch

She would look just like this

If I could make the perfect bi-ch

She would look like Mia

Face like Tamia, Lips like Aaliyah,

Haircut  like Nia, Wit a twist of Halle

Body  like Jennifer, Physique like Vivica

More soul then Erykah

Not to  say, bad as Beyonce

Typical hood bitch like Mary J

LISTEN TO THE FREDRO STARR SONG BELOW:

Kanye debuted “Perfect Bitch” during his DJ set at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge in New York City early Saturday morning.  Observers noted the song referenced Kanye’s “perfect girl” describing her physically as curvaceous and ample-bottomed.  the song also supposedly references Kanye’s ex Amber Rose.

“Perfect B*tch” doesn’t just copy Fredro Starr’s concept.  the sure-to-be-hit song also copies a sample that appeared on the Diddy-Nas hit “Hate Me Now” back in 1999.

Kanye recently announced  his music is the best modern Hip Hop fans can get.  He said (and this is a quote):

“…My music is perfect! this is the best you gon’ get ladies and gentlemen in this lifetime, I’m sorry. You go back to Beethoven and sh-t, but as far as this lifetime though, this is all you got.”

“Perfect B*tch” reportedly will appear on Kanye’s soon-to-be-released LP, Cruel Summer–in stores September 2012.

OLDED ca-pub-6150289201019895

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) may 13, 2010

Dr. Richard Rival (http://www.rivalcosmeticsurgery.com), a Facial Plastic surgeon performing Eyelid surgery in Toronto, is working closely with other medical specialists in order to make sure his patients’ surgical outcomes are as comprehensive as possible. In recent months he has seen more patients looking to rejuvenate the look of their eyes following corrective vision procedures.

“Working with doctors from other disciplines helps me ensure that the surgical decisions I make are in line with a patient’s broader health needs,” explains Dr. Rival. “Surgeries like eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty are often as much about function as they are about aesthetics, so it’s important for me to use every resource possible to ensure excellent results. I believe a multidisciplinary approach is always in the best interest of the patient.”

After vision correction procedures, many men and women want to take the next step to enhance the appearance of their eyes. this is particularly true for people who no longer need to wear glasses. In the case of eyelid surgery, Dr. Rival says collaboration with an eye surgeon can be particularly important because even cosmetic procedures that reshape the eyelids for a more youthful appearance still may require attention to functional concerns. even small variations in surgical technique can affect how well the eyelid works, making it one of the more complex cosmetic surgery procedures in Toronto.

“Eyelid surgery can improve a patient’s vision, especially when excess skin in the upper eyelid is causing ‘hooding’ of the eye, which can block peripheral vision,” notes Dr. Rival. “and if I’m planning to perform surgery for a patient who is also being seen for an eye disease or eye disorder, I need to coordinate care so their vision remains as clear as possible.”

Collaboration also can occur as part of other facial plastic surgery procedures in Toronto, such as rhinoplasty. before performing nose surgery, Dr. Rival may check with a patient’s allergy specialist or other practitioner so that he has a full picture of a patient’s health history.

“As a facial plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist, I’m well versed in the anatomy and physiology of the ears, nose and throat,” says Dr. Rival. “that said, I often find it helpful to consult with a patient’s other doctors so that I understand and special circumstances and can plan properly for a rhinoplasty procedure. by coordinating care, my patients end up healthier and ? in the case of nose surgery ? can actually breathe easier.”

As part of every new patient consultation, Dr. Rival reviews a patient’s health history, asks patients detailed questions, and follows up with the patient’s other medical specialists when he has concerns or needs additional clarification. Checking on a patient’s health is as important prior to a cosmetic procedure as it is for any other type of invasive surgery.

“I have performed advanced reconstructive surgeries where I have worked side-by-side with other surgeons, but not every collaboration has to be that involved,” he notes. “In some cases a simple phone call is all it takes to ensure I am selecting the most appropriate treatments and methods for a particular patient.”

Dr. Richard Rival (http://www.rivalcosmeticsurgery.com) is a board-certified otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon specializing in nose surgery in Toronto. Dr. Rival graduated with honors from the University of Toronto medical school, is a diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and a fellow of the American and Canadian Academies of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. he offers advanced options for primary and revision rhinoplasty patients from his offices in Toronto, Ontario.
