,abercrombie and fitch Luis Canelos, abercrombie and fitch, the Peruvian teenager who lost his genitals in a gunshot accident when he was a child, is facing a complex operation.

South Florida doctors on Thursday mapped out how they will replace his penis using a combination of skin from his forearm and bone from a cadaver.

The surgery, tentatively scheduled for next month, will take two medical teams 24 hours at Holtz Children’s Hospital at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. International Kids Fund Wonderfund, a Jackson Memorial Foundation-run charity that arranges for foreign children to get the medical attention they need, is helping to raise money for the $50,000 cost.

“I cannot overemphasize how complex the operation is,” said Dr. Rafael Gosalbez, a pediatric urologist at Miami Children’s Hospital, air jordan pas cher, who will perform the surgery with two other doctors.

Luis’ genitals were destroyed by a rifle shot when he was 9. he was left with just a part of his right testicle.

To make a new penis, doctors will remove skin from Luis’ left forearm. using a microscope, they will transfer nerves to enable Luis to experience sensation, abercrombie and fitch, said Dr. Christopher J. Salgado, louis vuitton schal, associate professor of surgery and section chief of plastic surgery at the University of Miami. Doctors will then transfer skin from his thigh to his forearm. Luis will sport a cast to allow a smooth recovery.

This sort of operation is “not very common and there are not a lot of institutions that do this,Mayor, pitbull ban, property appraiser, lead countywide ballot Tuesday – Miami-D,” Salgado said. he said he performs six penile reconstruction surgeries a year.

Salgado first met Luis three years ago in Lima,Rumsfeld Memoir to Tackle known and Unknown – CBS News, Peru, abercrombie,Early show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, and he felt compelled to help. Wonderfund arranged for Luis to receive treatment in Miami.

After the surgery, abercrombie and fitch france, Luis will be monitored for two days. Through additional surgery in the future, abercrombie france, Luis will eventually be able to father children. one option involves creating a support infrastructure using part of a fibular bone obtained from a cadaver. the other alternative is to insert an artificial pump, abercrombie and fitch france, which poses the risk of infection.

“This is not only about making him physically whole, it’s about giving him back human dignity, self-esteem,louis vuitton online shop, a future and maybe even prevent suicide,” said María Luisa Chea, executive director of International Kids Fund Wonderfund.

Women Sue Plastic Surgeon Who Posted Photos of Their Breast Augmentation Surgery

Ten women have sued their plastic surgeon after finding nude photos of themselves on the doctor’s breast augmentation website. they say that the photos – which were posted along with the women’s names – left them feeling humiliated and violated.

The St. Louis women, who range in age from 21 to 58, claim that publishing the photos online is an invasion of their privacy and an exploitation of their images and medical information. the photos appeared on their surgeon’s website as a marketing tool to show the before-and-after results of breast implants. some of the patients found the photos after Googling their own name, while others were alerted to the photos by friends or family members who came across them. the doctor apparently did not let the patients know that their photos had been posted on her website.

Who’s to Blame?

Each of the women had signed waivers allowing the doctor to publish their images, but only if they were anonymous. the surgeon, Dr. Michele Koo, blames the company that runs her website for posting the images with patient names. Because the company runs dozens of other cosmetic surgeons’ websites, it is feared that the problem could actually be much larger.

Homeowner fatally shoots man trying to break into car

A homeowner shot and killed a burglary suspect Friday who tried to break into his car in southwest Houston, investigators said.

The homeowner told police he heard the sound of breaking glass about 6 a.m., and, armed with a pistol, walked outside his home to investigate.

A man, identified by Houston police as Kyle Miller Jones of Pearland, then confronted the homeowner, police said. Jones was standing in the driveway at the home in the 11500 block of Misty Glen Lane at Vanderford, next to homeowner’s vehicle, police said.

The homeowner said the vehicle had a broken window and that the intruder was armed with a shovel.

When Jones turned toward the homeowner, police said, the homeowner shot him several times.

Jones, 25, was taken to an area hospital where he died, police said.

The homeowner and his roommate were taken in for questioning.

Hershel Johnson, who lives across the street from the home, said he heard two shots and walked outside to see a man lying on the ground next to the resident’s white Toyota Avalon. he had been shot at least once beneath his left arm, he said.

A shovel lay beside the man, and the vehicle’s left side rear passenger window had been broken.

Johnson said his neighbor has lived in the home about 10 years with his roommate, and worked as a self-employed landscaper.

“I’m behind him 100 percent,” Johnson, 70, said of his neighbor. “he is an honest guy and he works every day to make a living.”

What Happened to Carmen Campuzano? Cocaine, Plastic Surgery and Pig Poop

Meet Carmen Campuzano.

Carmen Campuzano after a href=nose job” title=”Carmen Campuzano after nose job” width=”472″ height=”368″>

Carmen is a Mexican model that obviously has had some tragically bad plastic surgery. Sadly, Carmen Campuzano’s severely botched nose job is just one of many disasters to befall the once successful supermodel, who has graced the cover of Vogue a record three times. Carmen has struggled with her addiction to drugs and alcohol, which has turned her life into a disaster. As a result of her addictions, she has been run over by a taxi, severed a finger, broken her arm so badly that it had to be reconstructed, she’s been committed to a mental institution, attempted suicide, overdosed on cocaine and lost custody of her children. One has to wonder if her lack of good judgement is also to blame for the poor result she’s gotten from plastic surgery. Do you think a raging cokehead is going to stop doing cocaine in order to let a nose job heal? probably not and probably not a good idea…

So just how did Carmen Campuzano’s nose end up in its currently deformed state? There are several stories out there swirling around, but a severe cocaine addiction, an overly aggressive plastic surgeon and a battle with a flesh eating bacteria (that Carmen picked up from stepping in pig poop!) could all be contributing factors in the disfigurement of her nose.

Smoking may make your nipples fall off, but cocaine can make your nose fall off…Stay off of the nose candy, kids!

Madonna Speaks Out About Olympia Concert

  +3

You can hate her and say what you want about her. yet, she is one of the happiest people alive and, if we all lived like that, just seeking and doing what makes us happy, this world would be a much better place. you must agree with that. If you do not, then you have rocks in your head, brainwashed by social conventions, which are truly meaningless. so, in order to achieve this, she leads an unconventional life. better than you sitting in your pathetic cubicle typing this and bashing her. Her original goal was to spread positive vibes because this earth desperately needs them and she has succeeded.

Minn. Gov. Denies Pill Popping Accusation

Politics is giving Gov. mark Dayton heartburn.

Controversy has flared up in Minnesota after a congressional candidate accused Dayton of taking “15 to 16 pills” at a breakfast meeting – a charge that Dayton, who says he takes only prescribed medications and antacids, has denied.

During a stump speech at an Aug. 6 fundraiser, candidate Mike Parry called Dayton “a scary man for the state of Minnesota.” Parry not only slammed the Democratic governor’s record, but also accused Dayton of taking drugs during a meeting. it was not specified when this meeting took place.

“When you sit across from him and you watch him pop 15 to 16 pills while you’re having a meeting, it’s scary,” Parry said of Dayton.

Parry’s speech was caught on video and put up on YouTube by the night of the fundraiser.

Dayton has openly stated that he takes medication for depression and also takes antacids. a number of Minnesota lawmakers have gone on record saying that Dayton does not have a drug problem and is entirely competent to serve as governor.

According to the Star Tribune, the governor denounced Parry’s claims as the “worst form of gutter politics” and “a lie” during a regularly scheduled campaign event on Aug. 7. While Parry has conceded that the governor may have taken less than 15 or 16 pills, he has stood by his statement.

“I have all the sympathy in the world for people that have issues like that,” Parry told local reporters. “What I was speaking about was that it would be very scary, very scary if our governor ended up with a House and a Senate that was controlled by one party.”

The governor has stated that he does not recall a breakfast meeting where Parry was in attendance, and also can’t think of a meeting in which he popped a number of pills. he did say, however, that he does “take medicine as needed for stomach acid,” and that “sometimes when I’m meeting with legislators, I need more of them.”

Chief of Staff Bob Hume echoed the governor’s sentiments, saying that Dayton’s office “saw the whole thing as a total fabrication.”

“Ultimately this is the final gasp from a candidate who has nothing to offer the people in the first congressional district,” Hume said. “The governor will not stoop to comment on Parry’s vile personal attacks. However, he does want a retraction of Parry’s lies about funding for Minnesota’s veterans.” In his Aug. 6 speech, Parry also made reportedly inaccurate claims about the governor’s record as it pertains to the benefits and rights of Minnesota veterans.

Dayton and Parry have clashed before, primarily over Parry’s controversial remarks and campaign tactics. last year, Parry printed leaflets claiming that unions had bought Dayton’s election, and in 2009, he drew a comparison between Democrats and pedophiles in a controversial tweet.

Parry will face off against Allen Quist in the Republican primary on August 14. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Rep. Tim Walz in November.

Doctor: Plastic surgery is ‘Wild West’ of medicine

Dr. Anthony Youn says he has been horrified by botched cosmetic procedures on patients who later turned to him for help: a liposuction that left shark bite-sized divots all over a woman’s thighs and stomach, another woman given “watermelon-sized” breast implants and liposuction that left her stomach “a rippled, lumpy mess.”

In addition to bad outcomes, both cases had this in common, says the California plastic surgeon: neither doctor was a board certified plastic surgeon.

Youn, a California plastic surgeon and author who has been quoted frequently, wrote a cautionary tale on CNN.com recently.

- “Plastic surgery has become the Wild West of medicine, with an increasing number of doctors performing invasive cosmetic procedures without proper training or credentials,” he says.

- Medical boards don’t restrict doctors from performing surgery outside their specialty, so many physicians are drifting into plastic surgery to make extra cash.

- the procedures are “almost never” performed in real hospitals, where surgeons are vetted and permitted to practice only in their field of expertise. “Doctors get around this by performing cosmetic procedures in their own in-office operating rooms or at ambulatory surgery centers, where the credentialing requirements may not be as strict,” he writes.

The bottom line: If you are contemplating plastic surgery, he says, seek out a physician certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery certifies facial plastic surgeons.

Battle St. Louis: Political Scions Face Off in Redistricting Matchup

Today, St. Louis is a reelection Thunderdome for two political scions. two men enter, one man leaves.

Democratic Reps. Russ Carnahan and Lacy Clay, Jr. will square off for the whole of the city, which they’ve shared in Congress for almost a decade, in a primary contest foisted upon them by 2012′s congressional redistricting–a process that has already pitted Democrat against Democrat in a handful of districts around the country.

The contest is replete with racial dynamics, negative politicking, and two of Missouri’s biggest political family names.

Carnahan, the grandson of Rep. Albert Carnahan, is the son of former Gov.  Mel Carnahan and former Sen. Jean Carnahan, who filled her late husband’s senate seat when he posthumously defeated Republican John Aschcroft after dying in a plane crash weeks before the election. Since 2005, Russ Carnahan has represented a district that includes the southern half of St. Louis  and extends into rural areas along the Mississippi.

Get more pure politics at ABC News.com/Politics and a lighter take on the news at OTUSNews.com

Clay is the son of former Rep. Bill Clay, Sr., Missouri’s first African American representative, who served in Congress from 1969-2001. Since 2001, William Lacy Clay, Jr. has represented his father’s district, which includes North St. Louis and much of the northern metro area.

Now, the two are vying in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Missouri’s newly combined first District, encompassing mostly  Clay’s territory, with Carnahan’s South St. Louis neighborhoods and a few southern suburbs thrown in. gone are the rural and exurban stretches.

Under the new 2012 map, black and white St. Louis will now share a representative in Congress.

Carnahan, who is white, has represented more predominantly white South St. Louis, while Clay has represented predominantly black North St. Louis. Since 2005, they’ve shared representation of St. Louis along rough demographic lines that have held for decades.

Carnahan is courting Clay’s African American base with a minute-long radio ad that samples William DeVaugh’s “Be Thankful for What You’ve Got” (it charted in 1974, with memorable lyrics, “Diamond in the back , sunroof top, diggin’ the scene with a gangster lean…”) and a deep-voiced narrator who says, “For Russ, fighting for our families has never been about who’s black or who’s white. He’s all about what’s wrong and what’s right.” the ad is running on St. Louis’s urban stations, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Carnahan has also blanketed the city with mailers that accuse Clay of ties to the Rent-to-Own industry.

Clay, for his part, has advertised his ”backbone” against the “hatin’ Tea Party” over turntable scratches, a hip-hop/Afrobeat line, and a chorus of “La-cy Claaay!” in a radio ad featuring the voices of his father and former Olympian and East St. Louisan Jackie Joyner Kersee. Clay’s campaign has sent trucks through St. Louis neighborhoods blaring a two-and-a-half-minute version of the ad, according to a Clay consultant. ABC verified that over the weekend,  a white sedan with Clay decals rolled through St. Louis’s Central West End neighborhood, blasting music with its windows down.

St. Louis Mayor Francis slay and St. Louis County Executive Thomas Dooley, meanwhile, appear in this Clay TV ad citing Carnahan’s vote against a progressive budget substitute to the Paul Ryan plan, claiming Carnahan voted”against Medicare” and “caved to the tea party.”

The two congressmen are reliable Democratic votes, although Clay is more liberal. in National Journal’s latest vote rankings, Carnahan clocked a liberal rating of 70.5, while Clay came in at 93.3.

Whoever wins will almost certainly represent the heavily Democratic city in next year’s Congress.

Australia’s plastic surgeons use talking bras in TV ads to promote breast surgery service

A campaign breaks on national television next week targeting women considering plastic surgery on their breasts.

Created by Melbourne-based agency OBM, the campaign introduces a new brand – breast.com.au – designed to give Australians advice on breast alteration.

The campaign is backed by more than 100 plastic surgeons concerned that many Australians go overseas for operations – often with bad results.

The ads, which consist of three 15-second executions that go live on Sunday, use talking bras in a Sex in the City approach to get women talking about breast surgery.

The advertising directs women to the website, where they can get advice of breast alteration and connect to ‘genuine experts’ in their area.

The website reads: “by using our service, you can be connected to a genuine expert in the surgery you are considering for a consultation, near to where you live. Somebody who will look after you not just for a week, but for as long as you need.”

Advertising plastic surgery in Australia has been legal since 1994, but this is the first time a collective of Australian surgeons has taken to the commercial airwaves.

“This campaign is not about encouraging women to have plastic surgery. we are trying to help people who have already decided to have surgery make informed decisions,” Danielle Moeller, principal at OBM, told Mumbrella.

The campaign targets women of all ages, although the website also caters for men uncomfortable with their chest size.

Plastic surgeon Howard Webster said in a press release: “we are delighted with this new advertising campaign. It’s not like anything we’ve seen before and that’s exactly what we need to launch the first national service that makes breast surgery more approachable for Australian women.”

“It’s so important that women select a specialist plastic surgeon if they’re considering breast surgery. after all, you’re only given one body, and one bad decision can lead to a lifetime of regret,” he said.

The site does not contain a ‘before and after’ image gallery typical of plastic surgery advertising, although one may be introduced in due course, the agency said.

The advertiser has avoided using a Facebook page, as they want to moderate discussions on the website and through its call centre – which is located next door to OBM’s headquaters on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.

OBM won the assignment in April last year after a competitive pitch, and created the brand identity, the website and consumer and internal communications.
