‘Human Barbie’ defends child’s lipo voucher

A mother who came under criticism for giving her seven-year-old daughter a liposuction voucher has hit back at the media.

British mother Sarah Burge made headlines last week after giving her daughter Poppy a $10,000 plastic surgery gift for Christmas.

Ms Burge, also known as the “Human Barbie”, defended her gift in an interview with Seven’s Sunrise.

“She can either use this for plastic surgery from the age of 18 if she so wishes to do so,” she said.

“Or she can cash them in, take herself to university, buy herself a damn car for all I care.”

It is not the first time Sarah has found herself in the spotlight.

In 2010, she confessed to teaching her then six-year-old daughter to pole dance.

Poppy also received a $9000 breast enlargement voucher to redeem if she chose to at 16.

Sarah, who is paid to promote plastic surgery, defended the use of her daughter as a marketing tool.

“I could go and cash [the voucher] in right now and put the money in the bank,” she told Sunrise.

“[Poppy] wants to be a plastic surgeon when she’s older.

“Plastic surgery is here to stay whether we like it or not.”

Sarah has undergone more than 150 plastic surgery procedures herself, valued at more than $1 million.
