Here we give you, dear readers, a sneak peek at what transpires on the next installment of Orange County’s best-known (and most-hated?) reality TV series. Episode 7 airs tonight (3/20) at 9 p.m. on Bravo, or earlier if you have satellite TV or Bravo’s HD channel. Check your local listings.
Tonight’s episode starts with Tamra Barney walking into plastic surgeon Milind K. Ambe’s office in Newport Beach. Tamra is escorted to Dr. Ambe’s office, and he pops in, asking, “Hey, how are you?”
Tamra responds, “I’m good. I’m good.”
Dr Ambe gives Tamra a hug. “It’s nice to see you. How’s everything going?”
Tamra: “Good. Life is good.”
Dr. Ambe: “So what brings you in?”
Tamra laughs. “I’m back.” If you’re a fan of this show, you may recall that she saw Dr. Ambe when she got her first breast reduction, and I believe when she got her initial breast implants. Tamra’s son Ryan Vieth also saw Dr. Ambe to get some of the scar tissue out of his pectoralis major (his breasts), which resulted from some major steroid use.
Tamra: “I think I want to have my implants removed, completely.”
Ambe: : “Just completely.”
Tamra: “Just completely.”
In a one-on-one interview, Tamra says, “Having my breast implants removed is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I feel like they’re heavy, they’re hard to work out with. and I’m in a place in my life now that I don’t need these big breasts to define who I am.”
Back to Tamra’s meeting with Dr. Ambe. Tamra says, “You know, in my 40s, I want to be more natural.”
Ambe: “What size are you comfortable going to, meaning cup size?”
Tamra: “Honestly, I will go as small as I can.”
Ambe: “Meaning, if, if you can get a perky look, in a nice shape, with a B-cup…”
Tamra: “I would do it in an A, but I don’t even know what an A is.” Ha, that’s funny. are you referring to high school or breast size, Tamra?
Ambe: “I think we’d rather, we can get you into a B.”
Tamra: “After everything that I’ve gone through, whatever I do is my decision now. I wanted to get them smaller, and I was kind of influenced not to. So this time I want to do what I want to do.”
In a one-on-one interview, Tamra says, “I had breast implants when I was with Simon, and at that time, I kind of wanted to get rid of them, but was afraid.”
We see a flashback. Tamra is in the car with then-husband Simon Barney. She says, “I feel like they are way too big for my body.”
Simon says, “I don’t want someone with mosquito bites.”
Back to the meeting with Ambe. Tamra says, “I want to be my own person, I want to be able to make my own decisions, and I don’t want anyone to influence me whatsoever.”
Tamra says in a one-on-one, “In Orange County, having big (breasts) is power. and I’m not an insecure woman anymore, so I no longer need my (breasts) for my power. I’m using my mind.”
Ambe says, “Let’s get you into the exam room and we’ll go from there.”
Tamra says in a one-on-one, “I don’t think I’m going to miss anything about having big (breasts). They’re heavy. They’re hard to fit in clothes.”
In the examination room, Ambe says his “preference is to do an explantation.” I’m not exactly sure what that is, since I’m not a medical doctor, but I believe it’s the removal of an implant.
Ambe says something about how Tamra’s breasts are “perky enough.” he continues, “I’m going to check to see if you have any firmness, which you don’t.”
Ambe says he wants Tamra to keep the breast tissue which she has. “Definitely, you’ve grown more breast tissue,” he says.
Tamra: “It’s just crazy. these things just keep growing! I guess it’s better than my (behind)!”
Ambe: “I think you can do it without an implant.”
Tamra in an interview: “My third set of (breasts), third man! Third time’s a charm.”
Tamra asks Ambe if he can take some of the skin he’s going to remove and graft it onto her tattoo. Ambe laughs and says no.
In the next scene, we see Alexis Bellino getting her nose job at CosmetiCare in Newport Beach.
Dr. Michael Niccole, her plastic surgeon, says, “Any last words before an hour goes by and you start yelling at all of us?”
In a one-on-one interview, Alexis reveals, “It really hurts my feelings that everyone thinks the surgery is just for cosmetic reasons. Why would I go through this extensive a surgery just to have the bump taken out of my nose?”
Dr Niccole starts the operation. he says, “Her left side is totally obstructed airway-wise. She’s really blocked. I can barely put a Q-Tip in there.”
Alexis says in a one-on-one, “Since I was getting the bump taken out, part of me felt like it was for vanity, and I shouldn’t even be there.”
Dr Niccole grabs at something with his surgical pliers. “And this is what’s causing part of her breathing problem,” he says. “And so that’s her septum,” he states as he holds a disgusting piece of Alexis’ nose in the pliers.
Alexis continues: “And the other part of me, do I want to live miserable and on antibiotics and not breathing for 4-5 months out of the year, or do I want to buck up and do this thing?”
Dr Niccole: “So that opens that up quite a bit, but it’s still a little crooked here. and this is what she’s been complaining about going into her throat,” he says as he grabs a long piece of bloody snot with his pliers. “That’s why she’s been miserable and her headaches and sinuses.”
There’s a giant sucking sound and we see the long piece of bloody snot. “That’s the worst I’ve seen in a long time,” the doctor says.
The surgeons proceed to break Alexis’ nose and we hear an ungodly snap. “Poor Alexis, she’s going to be sore,” Niccole says.
The surgery is done and Niccole’s staff roll Alexis out of the operating room. Niccole says, “Take a deep breath Alexis. OK, it’s going to be cold.” he puts cold compresses on her nose.
We hear Alexis snoring. Dr. Niccole asks, “(Do you feel) miserable or fair?”
Alexis responds, “Miserable.”
Niccole: “Guess who’s here? Your hubby.”
We see Jim Bellino visiting.
Niccole says to Jim,”She’s doing great. Wait ’til you see the pictures of that.”
Alexis says to her husband, “Get this off my face.”
Jim: “Your face is covered.”
Alexis: “Get it all off.”
Jim: “I can’t take it off yet, babe.”
Alexis says in a one-on-one: “I know I’m completely black and blue, and I know my eyes are swollen shut. I don’t feel well. and all I keep thinking about is the goal at the end, and that is, to get through this. I just have to keep my mind on that.”
The staff help put Alexis into a wheelchair.
Jim: “You want to see a mirror?”
Dr. Niccole says, “All right, let’s get you going.”
Alexis responds, “Ughh!”
Next up is Vicki Gunvalson visiting with her daughter at the hospital. Briana Wolfsmith is having surgery to take out the nodules in her lymph nodes and thyroid. Vicki’s son Mike (Wolfsmith) shows up.
“Hi, honey,” Vicki says.
Mike: “Hi, how is she doing?”
Vicki: “The doctor said she had numerous nodules and the worst thyroid she’d seen and he thinks it might be cancer. he said it doesn’t look good.”
According to Vicki, Briana’s thyroid was very enlarged and multicolored. in order to get the nodules out, the doctors had to remove her thyroid and lymph nodes.
“I don’t know how she functioned all this time,” Vicki says. “They took out all of her lymph nodes in her neck.” according to the doctors, they expect the results to come back cancerous. this is a moment of great sadness and seriousness. I’m serious.
What else do we see in tonight’s episode? We see Vicki and Tamra join newest “housewife” Heather Dubrow in a helicopter ride from Orange County to Los Angeles. They are meeting Heather’s friends and exploring the idea of starting a restaurant in Orange County.
The following words flash on the screen: O.C. to L.A. by car: 2 hours. O.C. to L.A. by helicopter: 30 minutes. Wow.
Hovering in the chopper, Tamra says, “Awesome, I want a helicopter!”
Heather states in an interview, “Vicki is obviously a very successful business person, and maybe she might have a great question or two that we might not have thought of.”
Tamra: “It is amazing how much you can see.”
Vicki: “I want a helicopter.”
In an interview, Vicki says, “Obviously, Heather has friends with a lot of money. I don’t know anybody that has a helicopter to go to work. However, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want one. Yeah, absolutely I’d want one.” sure you do, Vicki.
After the ladies get off the helicopter, a black limousine rolls up. this may be the most glamorous scene in the history of “Real Housewives of Orange County.” the three meet Heather’s friends Jackie and Jaye.
Tamra says to Jaye, “That your chopper we were on? That was fun.”
Jaye explains that her kids are under the mistaken impression that everyone owns a helicopter.
Tamra says in an interview: “Shut the (expletive) up. are you kidding me right now?”
And what else? We’ve got another scene with Alexis. She’s meeting a couple days after surgery with Dr. Niccole.
“I couldn’t sleep at all, even on Ambien,” Alexis says. She also states, “I’m really disappointed that Gretchen hasn’t come by to see me yet.”
Dr Niccole: “How is the pain?”
Alexis: “Every four hours, it’s throbbing.”
In a one-on-one interview, Alexis says, “If Tamra and Gretchen weren’t talking, Gretchen would have been at my door right away.”
Dr. Niccole is checking out Alexis’ nose. “I took the filtering system out. Turbinates. as for the cosmetic part, we sewed the tip together, filed down the dorsum, the little hump, and narrowed it.”
Alexis: “I told you not to narrow it.”
Dr. Niccole looks at her, perplexed.
Alexis: “I don’t want it to look like I got my nose done.”
Niccole: “It won’t look like you had it done.”
Alexis says in an interview, long after her surgery, “Looking good in Orange County, it’s definitely part of the culture. and I hope that getting the bump fixed in my nose is going to help my appearance on Fox 5 News.” That may be the most vain thing said in the history of this show.
Back to the visit with Dr. Niccole. She says she prefers to have her sunglasses on, lights off, ice on her head. “I’m going to look so much better, praise the Lord!”
What else will be on tonight’s episode? We’ll see an emotional telephone conversation between Vicki and Tamra.
“I want to update you on Briana,” Vicki says. “She’s hurting. She’s hurting bad.”
Tamra listens and tries to hold back tears.
We will also see Gretchen Rossi watch a sexy performance and try out for the Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas.
Well, that’s all for now, folks! the next, eighth episode of “the Real Housewives of Orange County” airs Tuesday, March 27. We’ll have another exciting preview also on Tuesday.
