I love the Ballantyne Hotel because I always feel like I’m on vacation when I’m there. so I was excited to attend the OK! magazine and Wella Professionals party at the hotel’s newly renovated spa. For that evening, the spa went from tranquil oasis to more of a lounge atmosphere thanks to cool music from disc jockey Levar Gladden of Split Second Sound and attentive servers making sure everyone had something to eat and drink.
The event attracted a lot of guests, many of them beauty industry insiders. They tend to dress in the trendiest outfits, so I had a lot of fun picking up some tips. many of the most stylish were featured recently on my new What2Wear slideshow at www.charlotteobserver.com/style.
I also met some really interesting people including Dr. Jon Kulbresh and his fiancée, Sara Citron, who just moved here from L.a. Kulbresh, who has roots in the Carolinas, recently opened Carolina Facial Plastics near SouthPark mall. I was excited to hear that he trained with Dr. Paul Nassif, a prominent facial plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills.
For fellow fans of the Bravo TV show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Dr. Nassif is the husband of cast member Adrienne Maloof-Nassif. Kulbresh can be seen in both the surgery and recovery room during the episode where cast member Kyle Richard’s mother-in-law went to Nassif for her facelift.
Now that’s what I call a great cocktail party tidbit.
