There are many solutions for thinning hair. Talk to a doctor who offers many different forms of hair restoration to see what options are available to you
Hair loss affects millions of people, both men and women, in the United States alone. instead of accepting the loss of your hair-whether it be balding or thinning hair, sparse eyebrows-fight it with NeoGraft, a procedure that extracts your own healthy hair follicles and implants them in thinning spots for both natural looking and feeling results. Dr. Paul McAndrews, featured on the Doctors TV, shows how he dramatically helped his patient Dave increase his hairline and explains how the process of NeoGraft works to give his patient, Dave, a full head of hair again.
FUE could help with hair loss
Lucky for patients with thinning hair, follicular extraction procedures have come a long way-the option is no longer live with your baldness or have obvious transplants. NeoGrafting, the popular name for Follicular Unit Extraction (or FUE), works to efficiently produce results by a simple 4 step process, McAndrew states:
First, take the tissue out of the donor site; often located at the back of the head, there are healthy, good genetic hair follicles that are prime for the job of the transplant. although NeoGrafting is much less invasive than previous hair grafting techniques in that it doesn't use a scalpel, it is technically a surgical technique. Groupings of 1-3, sometimes 4 follicles are extracted then sent to be prepared for the implanting. Previous grafting techniques left patients with visible scars where the hair had been taken from but Dr. McAndrews reassures that by using the trichophytic closure method, scarring will be minimized and the hair will grow through any scarring, ensuring a natural-looking result.
After the second step, the preparation of the follicle in a lab, has occurred the doctor will begin his third step of making the multiple small incisions where they will place the implant. the minimally invasive aspect of NeoGrafting allows a much faster speed and larger coverage area to be attained, effectively producing more hair faster than ever before. Finally, the hair follicles are placed and the process of new growth begins.
Aside from the obvious positive factors like natural hair regrowth, patients can look forward to a few other factors as well: quick recovery time, returning to work in 1-2 days; much less discomfort than prior procedures, with the use of only local anesthesia; significant hair regrowth in as little as four months and full hair regrowth in nine to twelve months and last but not least, lower cost than previous methods with better faster results. both men and women are candidates for this procedure but, as always, it is important to discuss with your doctor to ensure it is the right procedure for you. .

HOUSTON, TX, Aug 09, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) –Plastic surgeons offer a variety of procedures designed to smoothout wrinkles and tighten facial skin, yet numerous people arehesitant to undergo treatment because many of the surgeries areinvasive. Houston dermatologist Dr. Paul Friedman and his associateDr. Jennifer Peterson now offer a non-surgical, non-invasive facialrejuvenation treatment known as Ultherapy(TM). They say the procedureis a great option for patients interested in skin tightening, as itstimulates collagen growth and ultimately improves elasticity bylifting and volumizing the skin. Dr. Friedman adds that offeringUltherapy(TM) allows the practice to further encompass patients’aesthetic desires and needs while continuing to promote the highestlevel of care available.
the Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center offers a comprehensive rangeof treatments and procedures spanning from CoolSculpting(R) andBOTOX(R) Cosmetic, to LAVIV(TM) and Ultherapy(TM). Dr. Friedman andhis experienced staff are dedicated to the enhancement of patientcare through utilization of the newest, most advanced dermatologicaltechnology. In an effort to remain a leader in the skin careindustry, Dr. Friedman says he consistently strives to stayup-to-date on the latest industry techniques and technologicaldevelopments, adding that he is proud his practice is able to offerstate-of-the-art treatments like Ultherapy(TM).
Ultherapy(TM) is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes ultrasonicwaves to help facial skin by growing more collagen which results inskin-lifting, skin-tightening, and improved elasticity. the procedureis often performed to help rejuvenate areas with minimal sagging orwrinkling such as the neck and around the eyes. although someminimally-invasive treatments, like the fraxel laser, can be veryeffective for facial rejuvenation, Ultherapy(TM) does not utilizelaser technology. As a result, patients are usually able to return totheir daily routines immediately after the procedure. Dr. Friedmansays recovery time and results may vary among individuals, addingthat patients should always talk to their doctors about what toexpect post-treatment.
Dr. Peterson says patients can usually expect to see initial resultstwo to three months after the procedure, while full results can beseen at six months. she urges her patients to remain patient with theprocess and reminds them that the collagen growth under the skin willoften cause continuing improvement in the results over time. Dr.Peterson says due to the procedure’s gentle nature, many people findthe results to look more natural than other facial rejuvenationtreatments. Dr. Friedman adds that whether his patients areinterested in Ultherapy(TM), or any other procedures, they shouldalways consult with a board-certified dermatologist to ensure thesafest and most advanced techniques are being used.

The number of men opting to have cosmetic surgery procedures is up by 121 per cent.
This is according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), who have released their 2011 figures and compared these with the same figures from 1997.
Surgical advancements are undoubtedly one reason for this dramatic increase in procedures, but experts believe that stigma that may have once been attached to men having surgery for cosmetic reasons has been lost in recent years.
According to Dr Paul Parker, a consultant plastic surgeon practising in New Jersey, America, the reasons are down to a man’s appearance not matching how he feels inside.
“I believe as baby boomers age—both men and women—they see themselves as healthy, active and fit. They’re unhappy when their face or body doesn’t match up with how they feel, and they want to do something about it,” he said.

Statistics released last month by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reveals that chin augmentation is the fastest growing plastic surgery performed across every age demographic. New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul M. Parker, has also noticed an increase in this procedure at his surgery center.
Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) may 15, 2012
there were 20,680 chin augmentations performed in the U.S. in 2011, a 71% increase over 2010. this is the largest increase of all plastic surgery procedures, out pacing increases for the most popular procedures such as breast augmentation, botox and liposuction.
There are several factors which are being credited with the dramatic increase. one is the increased use of video chat technology such as Skype, video conferencing with webcams, and FaceTime on iPhones. Also a considered factor is the increased popularity of Facebook, which now has over 900 million members. Individuals are more concerned with facial symmetry now that their faces are online for all acquaintances to see.
“Age is the overriding factor in this type of plastic surgery. the largest percentage increase in chin augmentation is 77% in the age 40-54 group. this age group is just beginning to see the effects of aging on the face with increased skin laxity. a chin implant can make an immediate dramatic improvement,” explained New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul M. Parker.
The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery has examined their own statistics and found a 150% increase in patients seeking chin augmentation. New Jersey surgeon, Dr. Parker, uses a tapered silicone implant with a small incision in a procedure that takes about 30 minutes for his chin augmentation patients. Patients are amazed at how this small change can make such an extraordinary difference.
The Parker Center uses digital technology to show patients how they will look after their chin augmentation. New Jersey patients view these images to understand Dr. Parker’s treatment plan and to establish expectations about results.
Dr. Parker often combines a chin augmentation with other facial procedures such as rhinoplasty or liposuction of the neck. by combining these procedures, he is better able to create more natural and balanced symmetry to the face. For example, Dr. Parker can better balance the nose (the most prominent facial feature) with a chin implant resulting in less extensive rhinoplasty work. Overall this produces a much more natural, pleasing appearance.
“My problem was a double chin. I really felt it made me look older than I am, 36. Dr. Parker did a chin augmentation and liposuction on my neck. I’m really very pleased with the results and I don’t know why I waited so long to have it done” –Dave, New Jersey chin augmentation and neck liposuction patient.
Patients who undergo chin augmentation at the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery are given a local anesthetic in addition to intravenous sedation administered by a board certified anesthesiologist. a ¾’ incision is made under the chin and the tapered chin implant is inserted directly onto and adheres to the jawbone. Sutures are removed 4-5 days later and the incision area is virtually imperceptible. Patients of the Parker Center report very little to no pain, and any swelling or discoloration eases after the first several days post-op. most return to normal activities within 3-4 days and exercise after 10 days.
“We’ve been using these extended anatomical chin implants for some time now, and they are very effective. Our patients love the natural look these anatomic implants create and they feel perfectly natural as well. They come in a variety of sizes to fit different individuals,” explained Dr. Parker.
A chin implant is a relatively straightforward procedure that can be easily done by a surgeon who is experienced, uses his or her best judgment, skills and aesthetic eye to create the balanced, symmetry that will best enhance your appearance.
The staff at the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery understands that the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery is intensely personal. most patients are looking to make small but dramatic enhancements that are natural looking yet reduce the appearance of the signs of aging, which patients receive from a chin augmentation. New Jersey native, Dr. Paul M. Parker, is very popular among his chin augmentation patients.
“With the prevalence of the internet, most people who come to see me are very educated on the type of cosmetic procedure they are interested in. Our staff and surgical team work diligently every day to exceed their expectations. Patients often tell me that their New Jersey plastic surgery was ‘a wonderful experience’ and how warm, caring, and professionally everyone treated them. That’s our goal,” said Dr. Parker.
The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery has a fully accredited, state of the art, on-site surgical center, Surgiplex. Here, Dr. Parker has duplicated the safety of a hospital but in a beautiful, calm, more relaxed setting. the 2,300 sq. ft. facility was designed with patient safety in mind and includes a separate, dedicated HVAC system with a special air filtration system. the center also includes an emergency generator to provide power in the event of an outage. the operating room, lights, equipment and anesthesia are all state of the art.
About Dr. ParkerDr. Parker is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Chronological and physiological aging, weight gain, weight loss and genetics are all responsible for issues around the face and neck that are often of concern to patients can be corrected with a New Jersey facelift, neck lift or both.
“When these patients come to see us in our office, I will ask them to prioritize what it is that bothers them. in some, it’s the aging changes of the face alone, neck alone or both. in examining these patients, I look carefully at their anatomy. Correlating their concerns and their anatomy allows us to discuss treatment options and evolve a treatment plan,” says Dr. Paul Parker. “When addressing these facial and neck issues, there are a variety of approaches that we can take that fall under the category of a facelift or neck lift.”
For patients of The Parker Center in New Jersey, facelift and neck lift procedures are determined based on Dr. Parker’s discussion of options with the patient. “Face and neck lifts are pretty related and are often performed together for optimal results,” says Dr. Parker. “But, they can also be done separately depending on the specific needs and desires of the patient.”
Here are the various factors that he looks for when deciding how to move forward:
➢ Excess fat in the neck, good skin elasticity and muscle tone- Fullness in the neck from weight gain, aging or genetics makes people of all ages feel self-conscious and even gives the appearance that they are overweight when they are not. Using a small incision under the chin, Dr. Parker uses VASER liposuction to remove the excess fat. Because the skin has good elasticity, it should bounce back, conforming to the improved shape created with liposuction. The patient will have a slimmer neck and neckline.
➢ Excess fat in the neck, poor elasticity and muscle tone- This situation calls for a more intensive neck lift. Because the skin has lost elasticity, liposuction alone is not a good tool. The fat is removed with liposuction, but the excess skin needs to be tightened as well. If the platysma muscles in the neck are loose and sag, these are also tightened with sutures that help improve the contour of the neck. Incisions for this procedure are made under the chin and around the ear lobe.
➢ Excess skin in the neck- If there is no fat present, but the skin has lost elasticity, Dr. Parker uses the under chin and ear lobe incisions to remove excess skin and appropriately tighten it to improve the contour of the neck.
➢ Sagging fat and skin of the cheeks and jowls- If there aren’t any issues with the neck, but facial skin and fat are sagging in the cheeks and jowls, a “mini” facelift can correct the issue. Dr. Parker will lift the sagging fat into a more youthful position with sutures as well as remove and appropriately tighten the lax skin. This is done through well concealed incisions along the nooks and crannies in the front of the ear.
➢ Excess skin and fat in the cheeks, jowls and neck- This situation calls for what is really a traditional face and neck lift. This addresses the middle third and lower third of the face as well as the neck. Sagging facial fat is lifted into a more youthful position with sutures. The lax facial and neck skin is tightened with sutures in front of and behind the ear. The goal here again is a more youthful looking face and neck.
Surgery time varies depending on what procedure is employed. for simple liposuction, it may take only 45 minutes but if a full face and neck lift is needed, the surgery may take up to 4 hours. Recovery for a New Jersey facelift and neck lift takes about 2 weeks when the patient can get back to normal activities and be out in public comfortably.
“While the patient will see a decided difference immediately after the surgery, she will have a very good preview of the final result within approximately three months,” says Dr. Paul Parker. “Final results can take approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient.”
Carefully listening to and examining the patient are essential to Dr. Parker in formulating and discussing treatment options which are customized for each patient. Computer imaging can also be very helpful in giving the patients an idea of what they might look like after surgery.
All of New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul M. Parker’s procedures are performed in the Parker Center’s state-of-the-art, fully certified ambulatory surgical facility, Surgiplex. Dr. Gary Branfman has never lost because he entered the medical margin – the patients.
The cosmetic surgeon has won most appropriate cosmetic surgeon two years in a quarrel and insists being voted in has to do more with his mercy than his surgical technique.
“It’s the mercy that patients are seeking for,” he said. “That’s my strength.”
Branfman has been in Victoria given 1991 and not long ago finished two decades in Victoria.
He does cosmetic surgeries is to face, breasts and body.
The attribute he has with his patients is segment of his ethics.
“I regard my patients noticed that that,” he said.
Dr. Gary Branfman the Victoria Plastic Surgery Center
Plastic surgery is generally thought of as procedures intended for wealthy adults. however, among the many recipients of restorative surgery are young people, children, even infants. Unfortunately, and through no fault of their own, many children are born with birth defects, or suffer disfigurement from accidents or even from trauma suffered in war-torn nations. the common thread among these children is that no child should have to go through life being ridiculed or looked down upon.
Rudi Unterthiner in his moving new book, Faces, Souls, and Painted Crows, reveals how that disfigured children are emotionally affected as well. this is the story of a man who, while on a journey to find self-worth as a plastic surgeon, encounters the children of Puertecitos, Mexico, and is profoundly touched by the people there.
Offering his skills to the poor villagers, especially to the children, Dr. Paul Reiter discovers that his profession is indeed honorable and necessary. the medical procedures that he provides offer more than physical health; it offers hope. It turns tears into smiles and shame into self-confidence. Seeing the children he helps brings validation to his vocation, and as a result, this doctor gains a new, more balanced perspective on his life.
This is a remarkable book that will speak to your heart. It’s about a man, through all his faults and shortcomings, finds inner peace in the most unlikely of places. What he discovers while on his journey to find what he believes is missing in his life, is that it was there all the time–the love of family and friends.
Facelifts, Souls, and Painted Crows by Rudi Unterthiner is a must read for anyone who has ever wanted to reach out to a child in need. this poignant story will have you weeping for joy at the emotional triumphs of the families of Puertecitos, as well as of the good doctor and his family.
And now for an eye-opening look at the dangers of plastic surgery: a New Jersey woman is suing her doctor, claiming she cannot fully close her peepers after a cosmetic procedure.
Marilyn Leisz showed CBS New York news to what extent her eyelids can touch, explaining, “That’s how it is when I sleep. That’s how it is 24-7, 365 days a year.” She added that she fears scratching her eyes at night and that she’s losing her vision. “all the favorite things I used to, like tennis, racquetball, swimming, horseback riding, bike riding, skeet shooting, gardening, I can’t do those things,” Leisz said.
Dr. Paul Parker’s defense points out that Leisz never complained since the 2005 operation and that she was warned of the risks involved because she’s gone under the knife so many times.
There’s no word on how much Leisz is seeking in damages.
DEL MAR —- when Dr. Paul Chasan decided to open a plasticsurgery office at 1401 Camino del Mar, his first patient was thebuilding.
Chasan said he has spent nearly $1.5 million upgrading the5,000-square-foot building. that includes a new facade, landscapingand disability access, along with upgrading the interior withsprinklers and the appropriate medical equipment.
Ranch & Coast Plastic Surgery opened in the remodeledbuilding Jan. 31, although the landscaping continued for the nextfew days. He’s leasing for 10 years, with an option to buy.
Chasan’s partner is Dr. Vincent Marin; both are board-certifiedplastic surgeons. they offer body, face and breast procedures, laser hair removal and walk-in Botox as part of their repertoire.Child care is provided.
Chasan said he’d been trying for years to move to Del Mar fromhis former office in La Jolla, finally settling on the Camino delMar property.
His previous location, in the Ximed building in La Jolla, wasbehind a gate in a medical office complex. that looked forbiddingto patients, Chasan said. The location in coastal Del Mar struckhim as much more welcoming.
However, city officials were dubious when he first broached theidea four years ago, Chasan said. they wanted to see retaildevelopment, not a plastic surgeon.
“I approached the mayor and I said, ‘What do you think?’ and hesaid, ‘Not a chance,’” Chasan said, chuckling at the memory.Getting approval took time and persistent lobbying, with an assistfrom the economic downturn.
“People were going out of business and no one was doingimprovements,” he said. “A clothing store went in, and two yearslater they were hurting. and this building really isn’t a greatbuilding for retail, because it’s set off from the street, andthere’s very little pedestrian traffic that walks by.
“I went back to the city and I said, ‘Are you ready to talk?Because I’m one of the few guys at this point who would putimprovements into the building; it’s in the public interest.’ Thecity seemed to be a lot more approachable,” Chasan said.
Once he got approval, Chasan brought in a team that designedboth legally required upgrades, such as the sprinklers anddisability access, and aesthetic touches he and city officialsdesired.
“It’s a vision that I had, to have a really unique experiencefor my patients,” Chasan said. “I’ve always been into architecture, and I like going to model homes, and mixing that passion with whatI do was part of the deal.”
Chasan hired Del Mar architect Dean Meredith for theexterior.
“I love his homes; he has lots of stonework, ledge stone andangles,” Chasan said. “I sought him out and he’s terrific. and thenI used a different architect, mark Reilly of Reilly Associates, forthe inside, because I wanted someone who’s experienced with medicaloffices.”
For the interior design, Chasan hired Susan Spath of Kern &Co., in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach.
“Susan has been the interior designer for many of the homes inRancho Santa Fe that have beautiful looks,” Chasan said. “It was awhole collaborative event.”
In keeping with the city’s desire that the front of the buildingremain retail, Chasan said his wife is opening a store, Pebbles, tosupply skin care and beauty products and items for plastic surgerypatients.
“She’s going all out,” he said. “I’m really proud of her. Thatreally enhances what I do.”
