WATCH: Transgender Beauty Queen Jenna Talackova Tells Her Story

Jenna Talackova is no ordinary beauty queen. the Miss Universe Canada contestant made headlines when she was temporarily disqualified from the competition, after pageant officials learned that she was not a "naturally born female." on Friday night, Talackova, 23, gave her first TV interview to Barbara Walters, and showed home videos of herself when she was a toddler… named Walter. Watch the segment below!

Sitting down with her mother on 20/20, Talackova explained that she knew she was different from the time she was 4 years old.

"I thought that I was in the wrong body," she told Walters. "I was really confused because they kept saying I was a boy, and I just never felt that way. I was always attracted to anything feminine."

"Jenna. That sounds so you!" her mother remembers thinking.

Since having sex reassignment surgery at age 19, Jenna says she looks just like a woman in every way. She’s also legally identified as a woman in Canada, even on her birth certificate. And she has never hidden the fact that she wasn’t born a woman, even entering a transgender beauty pageant in Thailand. So when Donald Trump disqualified her from the Miss Universe pageant, she took action, hiring famous attorney Gloria Allred to petition against the discriminatory law. the gambit worked: Trump changed the pageant rules to say that anyone who is legally identified as female can compete in his pageants.

While Talackova is the first transgendered woman to openly compete, it’s entirely possible — even probable — that transgendered women have taken part in beauty pageants before. And though Talackova admits to surgical enhancements like breast implants, isn’t it possible that she’s had less plastic surgery than some female-born beauty pageant contestants? Her story raises some interesting questions about what it means to be a woman, and how we judge appearances. And now, thanks to her bravery, the world of pageants is open to a whole new kind of beauty.

The Miss Universe Canada pageant takes place on May 19.

Old Lady Katy Perry Is Gorgeous Fun (VIDEO)

When I’m old I want to look just like Katy Perry! That’s right, the puffy, wrinkled skin, the bony, veined hands, the stiff, white, Palm Beach bob, the faded heart tattoo. I don’t believe she’s had a bit of cosmetic surgery done, ever, do you? she really has aged gracefully, even if she’s a bit heavy-handed with the foundation and eyeliner.

Yeah, okay, I’m talking about the OLD Katy in her latest video for “The one that Got Away.” she plays a much older woman reflecting back on a wild, sexy fling with an artist played by Diego Luna. (Watch it below!) Some fans love Katy for her music. Some love her because she’s gorgeous. I love her because she’s willing to get ugly.

We’ve seen Katy do “un-beautiful” before. in the video for “ET,” she wore crazy, bronze reptile contact lenses, unflattering corn rows, and had her whole face painted to look like a freaky alien version of herself floating through space, singing. (Apparently that’s what freaky Katy Perry aliens do in their spare time — float through space, singing.)

And then she donned braces, head-gear, and glasses for “Last Friday Night.” it wasn’t enough that she wears head-gear, either. she gawks with her eyes popped out and speaks in a doofus-y orthodontia-impaired voice. Even when she gets a makeover into pretty party-ready Katy in that video, it’s a nutty, ’80s version of her, and she’s still got the braces.

You have to be supremely confident to pull these looks off. I can think of a few other pop stars who would never dare be seen looking so goofy and unattractive. she obviously has a great sense of humor. And maybe she also just doesn’t take herself that seriously — but I love that she’ll let herself go like this.

Thanks to makeup artists, stylists, and digital editing, looking gorgeous in your music video is almost becoming almost, well, old. And with Lady Gaga blazing a trail of weirdness, letting your freak flag fly just seems like the thing to do. Get all boo-tay-ful for your video? Eh, not if you want to have some real fun.

Do you love it when Katy dares to ditch the beautiful?

The ABC television show “Extreme Makeover” has returned to national TV

The ABC television show “Extreme Makeover” has returned to national TV…only to be yanked off the air after one episode. It had one low-rated airing this past Friday night, and has since been cancelled. How could this be?

Plastic surgery has now evolved from the at-times-hideous display of completely changing how someone looks. Good plastic surgery now involves more natural results, hidden scars, and above all, retaining the essence of who a person is. most patients don’t want to look like someone else. They want to look like a better version of themselves. That’s what the top plastic surgeons now strive to do, not create a Barbie Doll carbon copy of the same “The Swan” contestant with over-arched eyebrows, DD breasts, plumped up lips, and long, flowing hair.

If I had a patient who looked in the mirror after surgery, put their hands to the side of their face like Macaulay Culkin in “Home Alone” and started screaming at the top of their lungs, I would be a tad bit concerned.

There still remains at least one major plastic surgery reality show on the air. “Extreme Makeover” is no “Dr. 90210.”

Two young girls attacked by dogs in separate incidents; three total attacks this week

LARGO –

Two dog attacks occurred on Friday night — both in Largo, making it a total of three dog attacks just this week in Pinellas County. Attack #1: Largo police say a 9-year-old girl was walking her Chihuahua near Bennett Street and Palm Drive SW in Largo when two dogs charged her. Police say the girl picked up the Chihuahua which is when one of the dogs jumped up and started biting her shoulder. The owner of the dog carried it out after the incident, so that animal control officers could take it away. The 9-year-old was taken to all Children’s Hospital with serious wounds and lacerations to her shoulders. Colby Hobbs and Frank Dickerson were around and helped to break up the attack. “He actually got lock jaw on her arm,” Hobbs said. “Right then I knew it was serious, the dog wasn’t playing. I grabbed the dog, threw the girl out of the way, took the dog down. It was so out of control, I was just in instinct mode.” “I came out with a chair and hit the dog,” Dickerson said. “The dog ran away and then came back, ran away and came back.” Attack #2: another dog attack occurred in Largo on Friday as a Rottweiler attacked a 12-year-old girl. Police say the Rottweiler attacked the girl while she was standing in the street near Lake Palms Drive in Largo. According to authorities, the 12-year-old girl’s wounds aren’t as serious as the 9-year-old’s and she has already been released from the hospital. The Rottweiler was taken by animal control shortly after the incident. all dogs involved in the attacks are being quarantined by animal control for 10 days to make sure they don’t have rabies. Afterwards, it’s going to be up to animal control and their owners whether the dogs return home. The owner of the Rottweiler says he wants his dog back, whereas the owner of the dog says he wants to wait to find out exactly what happened. Attack #3: A 78-year-old St. Petersburg grandmother is still recovering after being mauled by a pitbull that broke its chain and pounced on her. her family says the dog bit her on the face and she had to have plastic surgery.
