America’s Got Talent 2012 Recap: Season 7 Episode 12 ‘Boot Camp Continues In Vegas’ 6/26/12

Tonight on NBC is an all new episode of America’s Got Talent. on tonight’s America’s Got Talent the boot camp continues in Las Vegas with Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne and Nick Cannon in their search for the million-dollar act and deciding who would will make it to the top 48; which is now just one step away.  If you missed last night’s  episode, we have a full and detailed recap HERE for you.

Last night ‘the Horse’ was back and that guy just seriously disturbs me. the good thing is thought that Howard wasn’t that impressed when he kept his jeans on this time, so hopefully he won’t make it to the top 48.

Most of the female singers fell flat, nerves really got the best of them. Luna was so bad that the judges sent her home immediately. She had no energy, no fire on the stage – but the moment she was dumped, she was all full of fire when she started bad mouthing the judges backstage.

The opera singers didn’t too well either last night, mostly it was a show full of disappointments and I am hoping that America’s Got Talent saved the best for tonight.

There are three nights of Vegas, tonight is the second performance show and on Wednesday we will find out which acts make it through for a coveted spot in the top 48. then the live show begins from New York on Monday, July 2nd at 9 PM with an amazing two-hour episode and the one hour results show will air the following night.

Tonight’s episode looks like it is going to be exciting and you won’t want to miss it, so be sure to tune in for our live coverage of  NBC’s America’s Got Talent at 9 PM EST!  While you wait for our recap hit the comments and let us know what you thing of season 7 of AGT so far!

RECAP: Tonight more acts get their one last chance to impress the judges.

The magic category is up.  The mind reader is first, Eric Dittleman and he reads Sharon’s mind. the strange thing is, Sharon made up what was on her mind, it wasn’t real. Taylor Reed performs, then Justin Rivera; but the judges have no reaction to either of them. Spencer Horsman submerges himself in a small cube filled with water, he is handcuffed with a blindfold on. Essentially he has to pick the lock that cuffs his hands together and the other locks that is securing his head and neck down. Time for the final lock, he does it and Sharon is concerned for his welfare, Howard loved it and so did Howie.

Vocal groups are next, Eric and Olvia are first to perform and they are very strong. Next is father and daughter duo, Maurice and Shanice Hayes, she slipped up a bit. Jorge and his little daughter Alexa are next. Howard felt that Alexa wasn’t all that prepared for the song.

Moving on now to comedians, Jacob Williams is first and gets a few laughs but Howard felt that his material could have been stronger. Summy Obeid is next, then Dave Burleigh, Kellen Erskine, Tom Cotler and Frank Roche who is the last one to perform and he tanks, awkward! the judges call out Frank back to the stage, Howard tells him that this was his big break and he blew it, they send him right home.

Time for the kid category and Sebastien is first, all the judges are smiling. Next is Isaac Brown and he thinks he did great. the Untouchables perform, the judges are all smiles again. Amazing Elizabeth performs and the judges seem to like her a lot. Next is Edon, he is adorable and a very talented singer, he reminds Sharon of a young Billy Joel.

Male singers are next and Ulysses is the first one to perform, he is the guy with the theme song voice. Jake Wesley Rogers sings  and plays the piano, Howard thinks he needs time to grow up. Tim Poe sings  country, Tim Hockenberry sings and plays the piano; damn he’s giving me goose bumps and Howard loves him as much as I do.

It’s the hardest part of the day, Alexa and her dad are sent home, a comedian makes it through, a dance crew is sent home and so is Amazing Elizabeth and Isaac Brown. Sebastien makes it to New York, but Tim Poe doesn’t make it. the two male dance crews make it through, but the female singers go home. OMG, my favourite Ulysses and Tim Hockenberry make it through to New York.

Eric and Olvia, Maurice and Shanice make it through. two magicians make it through, Spencer Horsman is one of them.

Crap, the Horse made it through, more seeing him smash his nuts in New York. Opera singer Andrew didn’t make it through, sad, he is very talented.

Stay tuned tomorrow night when the Vegas auditions continue with the stand-bys getting a chance at the last few spots.

Maria Menounos Drops Sexual Abuse Bombshell on Howard Stern Show

I knew Maria Menounos was an Extra host, and I think if pressed I could have told you she was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. I had no idea, however, that she occasionally appears as a professional wrestler for the WWE, or that she likes to be choked while having an orgasm. oh, the things you learn on the Howard Stern show!

While Stern is well-known for his salacious interview style, amidst the talk of whether or not Menounos hooked up with her DWTS partner Derek Hough (she swears she didn’t, Stern didn’t believe her), she actually ended up discussing a pretty serious subject. Apparently Menounos has a phobia of doctors, and with good reason: according to her, she’s been molested during medical examinations. on multiple occasions.

Menounos told Stern that her first unpleasant medical encounter happened when she visited a doctor for a throat issue. she says he first asked her to change into a hospital gown, and then proceeded to touch her genitals.

I was really young, so I was so uncomfortable … [My boyfriend] Kevin was in the waiting room and I literally started screaming … I was just so uncomfortable I didn’t know what to do.

Wow, that’s super creepy. Sounds like the type of doctor whose next move might involve attempting to get a throat culture by unconventional means, if you know what I mean.

Oddly enough, this wasn’t Menounos’s only incident of doctor molestation. she went on to say she’s endured other examinations during which physicians, including male gynecologists, complimented her navel piercing while touching it.

She now brings her boyfriend into the room with her, especially for gynecological exams, but says she’s never pressed charges or taken official steps to report a doctor.

I’m torn on how to feel about this confession. on the one hand, I think Menounos is brave for talking about something so personal, and maybe the fact that she publicly said that inappropriate touching during an exam is not okay will help some other woman stop a doctor’s unethical behavior.

But on the other hand, it’s kind of weird that she never reported an incident, and that the doctor(s) who molested her are presumably still practicing and maybe abusing other patients. I mean, it’s not like she has a responsibility to be the poster girl for patient abuse, but I think she missed an opportunity to at least talk about what someone’s options are in that situation.

Of course, this is the Howard Stern show, not Oprah. I suppose the intended takeaway is that Maria Menounos is so smokin’ hot, she can’t even go to the doctor without getting felt up. Frankly, it doesn’t seem like the most empowering message to me, but maybe if it ever happens again, she’ll put those WWE skills to good use.

What do you think about Maria Menounos’s candid talk about doctor abuse?

PALA: Terry Fator and his puppet friends head Inland

All it took was a reality show to turn ventriloquist Terry Fator from a struggling entertainer to having his own theater in Las Vegas.

Fator, who won season two of “America’s Got Talent,” will be performing at Pala Casino Friday, June 1 at 8 p.m.

The ventriloquist got a lot of practice on the show performing in front of millions of people. but, he made it seem easier than it was for him.

“I expected to get kicked off each week,” he said. “The entire process was surreal.”

Fator said he still watches the show that made him famous and loved by millions.

”I watch it all the time,” he said. “So far I like Howard (Stern) as a judge.”

While he does enjoy what Stern brings to the show, Fator is sure about what would have happened if he tried out this season.

”If I was on now, I’m 100 percent sure that Howard and Howie wouldn’t put me through,” he said.

Going from obscurity to a major success almost overnight would be more than some people could handle, but Fator has a great support system in place.

“Being married keeps my head on straight,” he said. “My wife is not impressed by this. Fame is an illusion and she keeps my feet grounded.”

Fator said that ventriloquism has lulls in popularity over the years. He said a lot of people think of ventriloquists as mostly silly, corny and mainly for children. but, he said the recent upsurge in popularity due to his act and comedian Jeff Dunham is due to both men reinventing what people think of ventriloquists.

While Dunham uses puppets to tell his unique brand of humor, Fator uses his as more of a series of variety acts.

“I’m like a late night talk show host who keeps introducing musical acts,” he said.

When it comes to performing favorites, Fator said he loves doing Elvis Presley’s “Love me Tender” and Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderul World.”

“I always end my show with it,” he said.

Fator has millions of fans who watch him on tour and at his Las Vegas theater at the Mirage Hotel, but his puppets have fans of their own. Fator said he gets a lot of people who want to talk to him about Duggie Scott Walker and Vikki the Cougar.

“Vikki has had tons of plastic surgery,” he said. “We’ll, she is made of plastic after all.”

But, it’s his creation from “America’s Got Talent” that gets talked about the most.

“Winston the Impersonating Turtle,” he said. “Far and away, the most.” Fator said he wanted to create a character inspired by Kermit the Frog, but he wasn’t allowed to do a direct impression of Kermit. So Winston was born.
