Pop star Katy Perry regrets piercing her own nose with a safety pin as a teen because she still has a “horrible” scar.The “Firework” hitmaker punctured her nose with a needle behind her evangelist mother Mary’s back after she refused to let Perry get the procedure done professionally.And now the singer wishes she had considered the long-term facial effects of self-piercing.During an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday, she said, “I asked my mother permission so I could get my nose pierced. And of course she didn’t give it to me, she said, ‘It was ridiculous and she wasn’t gonna do that.’ So she then went on an errand, so I took a safety pin and a piece of ice and I pierced my own nose…”She saw it (later), she’s like, ‘Oh it’s not as bad as I thought.’ Because it was just a little diamond. But I still have this horrible scar that everybody brings up when they get really close.”

But Kardashian, 31, wasn’t in a state of mind to heed the prophetic advice of sister Khloe and others. (She filed for divorce from Humphries, 27, on Oct. 31 after just 72 days of marriage.)

“I’m a person, when I’m in love, you can’t tell me anything,” she explained to Jay Leno on The Tonight show Wednesday. “And you gotta go through it yourself. so, I did what I believed in doing, and sometimes you don’t want to hear what your family has to say.”

She and Humphries are now locked in an unresolved divorce battle. But still, Kardashian told Leno she’s not sure she would have done it differently. “You look back and you’re like, ‘OK, that was a sign,’ or, you know, ‘Maybe I should have listened to them.’ But, I wouldn’t have been who I am today had I not gone through that.”

And the romance was no show-mance, the reality star insisted. “What you see is what you get. I showed my life and the reality of my life and it might not be pretty all the time, but it’s who I am and I learned so much from it.”

In the magazine she describes this as an “obsession”, even getting to the point of having 10 plastic surgeries in one day! what is even more shocking is that she is only 23 years old!

“I was made fun of when I was younger, and so I had insecurities, especially after I moved to L.a. People said I had a “Jay Leno chin”; they’d circle it on blogs and say nasty things. It bothered me. and when I watched myself on The Hills, my ears would be sticking out likle Dumbo! I just wanted to feel more confident and look in the mirror and be like, “Whoa! That’s me!” I was an ugly duckling before.”
