Heidi Montag News – Heidi Montag Talks Plastic Surgery, Three Years After Transformation: ‘I Won’t Give Up Trying to Prove I’m More Than Just That’ – Celebuzz

Nearly three years after Heidi Montag had life-changing plastic surgery — a jaw-dropping 10 procedures in one day — she is settling into her body.

But, the former star of MTV’s The Hills admits she would never do such a series of surgical procedures again.

“I wouldn’t do it again, that’s for sure,” Montag, 25, told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview at her home in Santa Barbara, Calif. “It was a lot more than I could have expected.”

How painful was the experience for Heidi?

She explained, “I really hate talking about it now because it was so long ago. I was a much different person back then to who I am now. I didn’t realize how much of The Hills — and going through that — would define who I am.

“I’m really looking forward to the next phase in my life. I know I’ll never be able to get away from a lot of it, but I won’t give up trying to prove I’m more than just that.”

Montag shocked the world when she was featured on the cover of PEOPLE magazine in early 2010 for having 10 plastic surgery procedures, including breast implants, liposuction on her stomach and thighs, a brow lift and a nose revision.

The cover headline beamed, “Addicted to Plastic Surgery.”

Montag, who has been married to Hills costar Spencer Pratt since 2009, has stayed out of the spotlight for most of 2012. She has mentioned several projects in the works for next year — but is mum on details.

The plastic surgery experience — which marked the descent of Montag from the public eye — was obviously a painful one for the former reality starlet.

“I feel really thankful that it all came out so well — it could have been really disastrous,” Montag said.

“I lived and I learned — and I wouldn’t really recommend it for other people. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be going through it — physically, mentally, emotionally, recovering. But, I’m just glad it’s done and that everything healed so well.”

Montag now says she is on her doctor’s timetable for a full recovery.

“My doctor originally told me it would take two years, so it’s finally settling in now. It feels really good to be healthy and strong,” she added.

“there are basic problems. I use a lot of creams and stuff on any residue scars. But, they’re almost gone now.”

Now that her healing is done — Montag intends to dig out the bikini she has been hiding for months.

“I actually haven’t been in a bikini in about a year, but I’m going to soon and I’m really excited,” she told Celebuzz.

“after my surgery, I stopped working out and now I’m getting back into it I feel the best ever. I feel really healthy and strong and like I’m gonna be the healthiest and fittest. I feel really good.”

Heidi Montag: Too Much Too Young?

The recent People Magazine cover featuring Heidi Montag and her plastic surgery obsession made for a lot of talk around the proverbial watercooler and filled fluff minutes on every daytime talk show…for about a week. But much like the “career” of this type of celebrity, the story soon begins to fade…until the next unbelievable demonstration of “self-improvement” and career-boosting. But it brings up several hot topics, both in plastic surgery as well as in society.

I will only list some of the procedures Heidi had during her surgery:1. Revision rhinoplasty2. Browlift3. Chin reduction4. Ear Pinning5. Facial fat grafting6. Revision breast surgery with upsizing to 650cc implants7. Liposuction8. Fat grafting to buttocks

This may not be comprehensive but is a long enough list for anyone, let alone an attractive, thin, 23 year old woman. the issues this type of surgery brings up are: 1- was all of this surgery necessary, or more importantly, safe given the length of time under anesthesia? 2- when is someone too young to be undergoing this amount of surgery? 3- what does this say about our society where people with no demostrable talent continue to put themselves through surgery to extend their fifteen minutes by a few more seconds?

The answers, in my opinion, to these 3 issues are:

1 – no, some of the procedures she underwent, such as a browlift and liposuction were not necessary, and in the case of 650cc implants on a frame like hers, will only cause problems down the line. In addition, ten hours under anesthesia can significantly increase risks of having serious complications after “elective” surgery!

2 – the fact that Heidi is only 23 and has undergone a prior rhinoplasty, prior breast augmentation and now is having revision rhinoplasty, more breast surgery and a whole host of other surgeries is only setting her up to having even more surgeries at a young age! Breast implants are not permanent, neither are browlifts or fat grafting. This becomes a slippery slope to feeding her addiction!

3 – This is the bigger, more philosophical issue. I don’t know Heidi Montag, and so I can’t be sure of her motivations for surgery. however, this new breed of false celebrity really struggle to reinvent themselves in order to keep themselves in the public eye. if Heidi is suffering from low self-esteem, poor self-image, or even worse, body dysmorphic disorder, having all of this surgery is the worst thing she could have done. I for one, think that as a physician and a plastic surgeon, we have the responsibility to advise our patients and demonstrate some discretion in who we operate on.

Heidi Montag Undergoes 10 Plastic Surgeries, Raises Questions about Addiction

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 10:48 AM

Heidi says the pressures of Hollywood prompted her to undergo a marathon 10 procedures in one day.

Heidi Montag first became famous as a reality star on MTV's The Hills and later became infamous and given several less than kind nicknames and descriptions. she has recently come under scrutiny again as she announced on the cover of People magazine that she underwent 10 separate cosmetic procedures in November, and is now revealing her new look.

Heidi underwent 10 procedures in one day:

She has now hit the interview circuit and spoke with Juju Chang of Good Morning America about her decision to undergo surgery. she said that she was teased as a child and called names referencing her looks and that she wanted to have these procedures done to make herself feel beautiful. In an interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, she claims that she came close to dying after surgery because she had “too much demerol, like Michael Jackson” and her security guard noticed her respiration had gotten low and had to alert nurses at the after care facility where she recovered following surgery.

While combining cosmetic procedures a single day is not uncommon, this does seem like quite a few procedures for just one day. Heidi's surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, says that he does not consider this to be a lot of surgery and that further, he is adamant that he has not done anything wrong, morally or medically.

Heidi also defends her choice saying that she was teased about her looks and that entertainment blogs made fun of her chin, saying it looked like Jay Leno's. she says in the interview with GMA that she is not addicted to plastic surgery, however in the article with People magazine, she says that she was “beyond obsessed” with having work done.

Heidi's interview with GMA's Juju Chang aired yesterday, January 19, and the remainder of the interview will air later this week on Nightline.

Eva shows off her curves and more fashion news!

Charlize Theron has revealed that though she is aging, she “can’t foresee” herself getting plastic surgery.

“I look in the mirror and my face is changing,” People Magazine quoted her as telling Interview.

“I have a different relationship all of a sudden with myself. Your face changes, things change — that’s just kind of what happens,” she said.

However, the Snow White and the Huntsman star does accept her fate.

“There are days when I definitely look in the mirror and go, ‘All right, I need to find a cream,’” she reveals. “Being a major Hollywood star changes the game,” she said.

“It’s hard in this industry, because I think so much importance is put on how you look.”

“I’m not brave enough to be like, ‘You know what? I’m just going to let it happen. Whatever. I’m so cool with every line on my face’,” she added.

Theron admitted that she wouldn’t go under the knife.

“I can’t foresee myself ever going under the knife, but then again, I’m only in my mid-thirties,” she said.

“Maybe it’s different when you’re in your mid-sixties. so I don’t want to make statements about where I’m gonna be in 30 years,” she said.

Much of Theron’s acceptance has to do with her mother, who “really instilled in me that my moral compass and achievements all had to come from a real place that had nothing to do with my beauty or how I looked,” she said.

But still, “I definitely have a different relationship with the way I look. It’s not all-consuming. but I’m also human,” she added.

Clay Aiken’s Plastic Surgery Confession

Clay Aiken’s Plastic Surgery Confession, If you thought something different about “American Idol” alum Clay Aiken when he returned to reality television in January with a stint on “Celebrity Apprentice,” well, you were right.

After months of speculation that the 33-year-old singer had gotten some sort of facial plastic surgery, Aiken came clean to “Watch what Happens Live” host Andy Cohen Tuesday night.

“I had operative surgery on my jaw for a TMJ thing and I had them suck the fat out of my chin while they were in there,” the “Invisible” crooner confessed during the show’s “Plead the Fifth” game” “I was like, ‘You know what, while I’m already down, go ahead and take the vacuum in there and suck the fat out of my chin.”

Clay’s not alone in his admission. a couple of other celebs have recently admitted to getting a little medical help in the beauty department. just last week, Susan Sarandon told People magazine she too had gotten some lipo under her chin as well as her eye, but insists she doesn’t want to go overboard: “You don’t want to look like a female impersonator of yourself,” she told the mag. Meanwhile, “Mission Impossible” actress Emmauelle Beart, told France’s Le Monde she went under the knife to get her “mouth done” when she was just 27, something she regrets.

What is it with those Hills chicks and their plastic surgery?

Thu, 14 January 2010 3:22PM

I always enjoy watching a Hills marathon, more for the fact that it’s like watching the The Curious Case of Benjamin Button rather than a quality TV show. I mean, looking at the ‘transformation’ of Heidi Montag throughout the seasons is eye catching enough, let alone throwing Stephanie Pratt into the mix, too.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Heidi Montag made the shock confession that she was, in fact, addicted to plastic surgery. Umm, I’m sorry Heidi but I could have told you that years ago. About the time when your nose miraculously got smaller and your cans doubled in size.

I do give Heidi points for being honest about it. so many Hollywood celebs pretend that their features just ‘changed’ over night, but what does disturb me is the fact that fame has caused Heidi to go from this…

As you can see, Primpers, it’s a massive change. and after having a nose job revision, chin reduction, mini brow lift, botox in forehead and frown area, fat injections in cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips, neck liposuction, ears pinned back, liposuction on waist, hips and inner and outer thighs, buttock augmentation and breast augmentation revision in ONE DAY, it’s no surprise she looks like a new age cat woman (and not the sexy kind, the scary kind). It’s too much. right? please say right.

However, it’s not just Heidi who’s been bitten by that nasty plastic surgery bug, fellow Hills star Stephanie Pratt has gone from this…

But I’m not here to get on my donkey and rat these chicks out for their strange life choices. if they want to get 10,000 plastic surgery procedures in one day, that’s their choice. Whatevs. but as a beauty editor, I do feel it’s my duty to stress to each and everyone of my precious Primpers that THIS IS NOT A GOOD LOOK.

I’m hoping you all agree with me. but if not, here is my case against The Hills plastic surgery overload…

- when you have size DDD boobs, they DO NOT need to get any bigger (Heidi told People she’s already wanting bigger cans).

- huge, big lips are not sexy. Ever. Unless you’re Angelina Jolie and they’re real. Fake ones, look shit.

- At 23, botox is probably less useful to you than a Poise Incontinence Pad. You’re young and your skin is, too. You don’t need to freeze it for at least another 8 years. At least.

- By the time Heidi and Steph are 50, imagine what they are going to look like. It’s not like you get one thing and then you’re good to go, you have to keep it up. Let’s just say, Jocelyn Wildenstein will look positively natural compared to these two.

- and finally, it’s addictive. Even Heidi confessed that “for the past three years, I’ve thought about what to have done. I’m beyond obsessed.” That’s just not right Primpers.

So, I’m hoping that you all agree with me on this one and think that Heidi and Stephanie have gone too far. What do you think of their look?who else has gone too far with the PS?How far would you go?

What is it with those Hills chicks and their plastic surgery?

To Betsy Rothstein of FishbowlDC, “thank you for asking….” « Gretawire

I suspect many of you read FISHBOWL – DC (yes, I do) but in case you missed it today, I have posted Betsy Rothstein’s article about 10 years of ON THE RECORD at 10pm.  (It is posted at the end of my note.)

Today is the exact day we launched…..February 4, 2002.  Incidentally, right before Feb. 4, 2002, I had just had the bags under my eyes fixed and because I was still swollen, I did still look a bit like the Pillsbury Doughboy, didn’t I?     I got so much media attention for being open about plastic surgery that ON THE RECORD at 10pm got a huge media launch.  Everyone one was talking about it.  It was incredible – even the cover of People Magazine!  Although it was certainly not planned to be a marketing ploy, it ended up being a phenomenal to launch a show.  Even when the critics had something to say about me they mentioned our new show…and mentioning the new show – regardless of what was said – was big for our launch!  It is buzz!  It didn’t matter what they were saying – it mattered that they were saying it and paying attention and telling everyone else about the new show.  Buzz gets everyone paying attention.   No other cable news show has ever gotten a media launch like that and the funny thing?  It did not cost Fox a dime.  It was total luck.  At the time I thought – if only I were smart enough to have planned it to work out this way…but it was just plain luck.

Besides working with great people, and having great friends, I have had lots of luck.  I was extraordinarily lucky to have been chosen by Roger Ailes to anchor the new Fox cable show at 10p.   Frankly, he could have picked a lot of people – there are a lot of good people out there – but he picked me.

I also know and have told ALL OF YOU many times here on GretaWire, you are a GIANT part of the success of ON THE RECORD at 10pm for 10 years straight.  Without you, we would not be successful – and we sure would not be #1 for 10 straight years without you.

And, of course, with GretaWire, I feel like I know many of you and that you are my friends – even on those occasions when you are clobbering me for something I said or did  (and yes, many times I may deserve it.)  But, what is fun is that even when we get into the occasional dust up with each other we all get over it and move on.  I love good strong debate.

After reading Betsy’s article below it occurred to me that I left so much out – there are so many trips and interviews not mentioned.  Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu? Mexico? or how about the time in Afghanistan when President Hamid Karzai and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton helped me pick out a tie to buy my husband?  and I could go on and on..but you have been with us for 10 years…so you remember the interviews and times, too.

I don’t want to get too sappy (I really am not the sappy type) but let me repeat one more time: I really do enjoy all of you and thank you for everything.

Here is Betsy’s article in which she asks me several questions:

Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon tweeted about dog before fatal car crash

THE Hollywood plastic surgeon known for performing 10 procedures on reality star Heidi Montag in one day, allegedly posted updates to his Twitter account in the moments before he was killed in a car accident.

Just minutes before his fatal crash on Monday, Dr Frank Ryan, 50, tweeted about his dog – who was a passenger in the car as he drove down a Malibu highway, the Los Angeles Times said.

"Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune," he tweeted at 4.10pm local time, including a link to a picture of his beloved pooch at the beach.

Dr Ryan was killed just moments later when his 1995 Jeep Wrangler went over the side of the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu and landed on its roof about 4.30pm.

The doctor-to-the-stars was trapped inside his vehicle and suffered major head injuries. He was declared dead at the scene. His dog Jill, who was the subject of his final tweets, survived the accident.

Investigators have not confirmed the cause of the crash but were looking into whether text messaging or tweeting contributed, California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Reid said.

"We are all in shock," Dr Ryan’s rep told People magazine. "He was such a hardworking, philanthropic man, a loving son, and responsible for changing many people’s lives for the better. He will be missed by many."

Montag – who had a brow lift, Botox, nose job, fat injections on her face, breast implants and liposuction in a marathon plastic surgery session performed by Dr Ryan – took to Twitter to express her grief at his death.

"I am devastated to hear the news of Dr Frank Ryan’s death," she wrote.

"He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met. He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr Frank Ryan changed the world," she continued.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed enough to meet him. He is in a better place."
