Plastic Surgeons Comment on Bargain Facelifts

Huntington, NY (PRWEB) July 22, 2012

the Long Island plastic surgery specialists at Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery say people shopping for a facelift should be wary of surgical practices that advertise cut-rate procedures.

While Dr. James Romanelli and Dr. Dana Khuthaila acknowledge that price is a valid consideration when choosing a surgeon, they caution people to seek out the best practitioner rather than the cheapest one.

"like any surgical procedure, cosmetic or otherwise, a facelift has inherent risks, not the least of which is an unnatural appearance following the surgery," Dr. Romanelli says. "the procedure is extremely safe in the hands of a capable surgeon, but I tell candidates for a face lift in Long Island to avoid outfits that emphasize cost more than quality."

Dr. Romanelli says many practices, some of which are nationwide chains, often tout "lunch-hour" procedures at discounted prices to lure patients who have concerns about the cost of cosmetic surgery.

"Marketing language that focuses primarily on the cost of surgery should raise a red flag," he says, adding that mistakes made during hastily performed facelifts can sometimes lead to infection and other complications.

"when you choose a surgeon for your facelift, you're trusting that person with not only your appearance but also your health," says Dr. Khuthaila, who practices with Dr. Romanelli. "Basing this type of decision, which can have lifelong repercussions, on an advertising campaign that promises low prices can be incredibly risky."

"do your research when selecting a surgeon," Dr. Romanelli says. "look for someone who is board-certified, who has consistently positive reviews and who is focused on the safety of the procedure as well as the quality of your results. Before moving ahead with surgery, meet with the surgeon, ask a lot of questions and make sure that you feel confident and secure with the answers."

Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery has developed a reputation as a quality plastic surgery practice in Long Island. Liposuction, facial sculpting, breast augmentation and other surgical procedures are offered, as well as a full range for medical spa services, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers and laser skin rejuvenation.

Dr. James Romanelli (http://www.jrcs.com) is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in body, face and breast enhancement procedures. After earning his medical degree from SUNY Downstate, Dr. Romanelli undertook 8 years of post-graduate specialty training in general surgery, plastic surgery and hand surgery. Dr. Romanelli has received numerous awards and professional appointments in recognition of his surgical skill. At his cosmetic surgery practice in Huntington, N.Y., he works in conjunction with Dr. Dana Khuthaila, a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for the breast, body and face.

Atlanta Plastic Surgeon Announces Top Ways to Avert Plastic Surgery Dangers

When it comes to plastic surgery, possessing the correct knowledge can be the difference between life and death.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 19, 2012

Dr. Deutsch is a board-certified plastic surgeon who is announcing expert strategies for averting plastic surgery dangers. “When it comes to plastic surgery, possessing the correct knowledge can be the difference between life and death,” says Dr. Deutsch. “When you have misinformation, you can end up getting botched procedures from a phony surgeon.”

According to Dr. Deutsch, the first and most important rule of plastic surgery is to find a plastic surgeon who is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.” while some surgeons may claim the title of a plastic surgeon, it’s important to see the stamped credentials before undergoing any type of procedure. It is also important that the surgeon performs his or her procedures at a facility that is accredited and approved as being safe with board certified anesthesia staff.

“The second important consideration of plastic surgery is pricing. Anything that’s real low is a red flag,” says Dr. Deutsch. there have been phony plastic surgeons in the past that have charged a patient only a few hundred dollars for a surgery as extreme as liposuction. Plastic surgery is not inexpensive because along with the doctor, other factors must be paid for, such as anesthesia, equipment and operating room charges. For a surgery to be done well, anything that’s cheap can just end up costing people their time and possibly even their lives.

Atlanta plastic surgeon, Dr. Deutsch, is a graduate of the University of South Florida Medical School and board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. he has been in the plastic surgery field for over 14 years, providing quality service to people of the greater Atlanta area. Perimeter Plastic Surgery has advanced, state-of-the-art equipment and technology for any plastic surgery procedure a patient desires. if you’re interested in plastic surgery and looking for a qualified professional to consult with, call 770-461-4824 or go online to http://www.perimeterplasticsurgery.com.

Questions to Ask Yourself Before Plastic Surgery

Are You Ready?

If you are considering plastic surgery, it is very common to be told to research your surgeon. it is easy to figure out how to do this. however, what many people forget is to look in themselves to see if it is something they truly want and can handle. Included here are some things to ask yourself as well as some things surgeons look for in their patients.

What are you looking for?

This is an important thing to know before looking for plastic surgery. many people decide that they are just not happy with how they look and want a blanket change. This is a red flag to many plastic surgeons who become wary that these people will probably never be happy by simply changing the way they look. A plastic surgeon is looking for a patient who has a specific change in mind and a healthy self-outlook.

Remember that plastic surgery can fix a specific and superficial change, deep social and personal issues require a different kind of care.

Talk to a patient

No one can give you a better feeling for what you want than yourself. however, talking to a patient who had their surgery a few months to a few years ago is very educational. try to find someone who had the same procedure. it is always good to see how they feel, whether or not they are satisfied, if they chose to have any more surgery, and most importantly, was it worth it? Asking these questions can really open your eyes and show you not only the physical results, but the mental results as well. it will help you answer the question we asked earlier.

Understand the limits

This is a point we cannot stress enough; plastic surgery has its limits. This is another reason why plastic surgeons look for someone who already has healthy self-esteem. Plastic surgery is not a path to bodily perfection. Let’s face it, there will always be room for improvement on everyone. Plastic surgery can help with that improvement, but it will never be the complete road to a perfect body that many people seem to believe it is.

Are you mentally prepared?

Plastic surgery is a mentally exhausting process, that is one thing you can be sure of. the physical procedures involve finding the right surgeon, going through multiple consultation sessions, being drugged out of your mind, recovering and seeing the changes to your body. This says nothing of the mental pressures which are even more strenuous. the prospect of permanently changing a body part is a scary idea to many people. it results in sleepless nights and tired mornings. This questioning can carry into the recovery and cause immense amounts of stress. it will help to be absolutely certain that you can handle this mental strain before getting into the operating room, it is extremely difficult for many patients and it will be for you too. make sure you can handle it so that you are happy when the process is over.

Get a consultation

The final step in getting yourself ready is to set up a consultation with your chosen surgeon. This can be scary as this is the man or woman who will be changing the way you look. You will have to show the parts you want changed and this can cause many people to become self-conscious and nervous. keep in mind that if you are feeling doubts about the surgery at this point it would be wise to put the process on pause and do some soul-searching. There is no rush and the process will move at the pace you want it to. If your surgeon rushes you, you should find s

it is a human life lost needlessly, in the pursuit of looking good, you have to wonder why someone would put themselves at risk? why is it in this society we place such a premium on being attractive people are prepared to have life threatening surgery, never mind surgery from a less than professional source? why are people able to be taken advantage of so easily and what can be done to stop this from happening again. lessons must be learnt.

Most Requested Celebrity Nose

According to a new survey of Beverly Hills patients, (posted on HollywoodLife.com) Natalie Portman is the winner of  ”most desired nose”.

The article highlights how patients often reference a celebrity when they go for consultations, and the number one procedure they ask for is rhinoplasty.

Dr. Simoni, a famed Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, who specializes in rhinoplasty ,doesn’t play into the expectations of those patients who ask to look like celebrities like most Doctors would.

He states, “When potential patients come in with pictures of celebrities or asks to look like someone else, it raises a red flag. these people tend to have unreal expectations -like that they will leave looking like they are 20 years old again. these people are often seeking perfection and medicine is not always perfect, so they are bound to be disappointed.”

Potential patients need to be aware of those Doctors who promise unreal expectations and assure you that their work will mirror a celebrities feature. your plastic surgeon should be honest and professional. Therefore you and your Doctor should discuss how  to enhance your features in the best way for YOU.
