Upside to Having Zirconium Dental Implants

A perfectly aligned set of white, healthy and beautiful teeth is essential to looking your best and boosting your self-confidence. Some people are blessed naturally with straight and sparkling teeth but who aren’t lucky enough to have two lines of pearly whites can still flash a fabulous smile with the help of dental implants.

Unlike removable dentures, dental implants never slip or make embarrassing sounds. As well, they look and feel like natural teeth and serve as long-term replacements. Composed of titanium metal that fuses with your jawbone, dental implants preserve the health and function of the jaw.

Titanium implants are the most extensively used teeth restorations in the field of dental implantology today, thanks to their impressive success rate i.e. 98% for lower implants and 91% for upper implants.

However, recently, non-metallic material implants have been introduced to replace a tooth or several missing teeth. the new form of teeth implants, called zirconium dental implants, offers a potentially more precision, strength, and aesthetic appeal than traditional titanium implants.

Overview of Zirconia

A clear definition of zirconia is needed when looking into zirconium dental implants. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), commonly known as zirconia or simply white steel, was discovered back in 1789 by the German chemist M. H. Klaproth. Today, zirconia is extensively used in automotive and aircraft industry because it is extremely resistant to heat and corrosion. This so-called ‘wonder material’ possesses some remarkable properties such as high bending strength, hardness and weibull modulus.

Thanks to its extraordinary properties, including its high fracture toughness and chemical resistance, zirconia-based ceramics have long been preferred for fabrication of lab equipment and a variety of medical applications, including hip replacements, dental crowns and bridges, to name a few.

Zirconia-based Implants

Also referred to as ceramic implants, the metal-free zirconium dental implants have today become a viable alternative to standard titanium teeth restorations. People who have sensitivity allergic reactions to metallic implants, can go for zirconium dental implants that are completely metal free.

The fake dental roots are made of special ceramic (Zirconium oxide) which is highly resistant to corrosion, fracture and heat.

Benefits

As zirconia is naturally white, the crowns and bridges made of it are very clear and are extremely similar to the condition of natural teeth and tooth roots.

Unlike the metal crowns, zirconium dental implants allow the light to pass as a normal tooth.

As far as the strength of these implants goes, they are highly stable, and are strong enough to endure wear and tear of everyday use. They are capable of lasting for a lifetime.

Due to their rough surface texture, these implants have excellent biological compatibility and are very well tolerated by the gingiva.

The implants bond exceedingly well with the jaw bone and are tolerated by the gums.

Zirconium dental implants have been approved by the FDA, German and other European Governing Boards.

These are completely metal-free implants, attracting patients with allergies or those who just do not want any metal replacements for their missing teeth.

Zirconium dental implants retain less plaque and calculus, and are virtually free of adverse concerns like metal sensitivity, inflammation, metal corrosion and physical fatigue, giving you healthier gums and improved overall health.

Zirconium based implants are definitely an ideal option for people who want to replace their damaged or missing teeth with metal-free restorations. But, as with any surgical procedure, these implants too come with some risks and problems.

Radioactivity is one of the main risks associated with Zirconia dental implants. the radioactive isotopes found in zirconium can build up inside a muffle and lead to an increased chance of various oral cancers.

Plastic Surgery – What’s New and Upcoming

Like a lot of industries, plastic surgery is customer oriented. So Doctors must pay attention to patient needs, wants and desires. They want to help the patient look their best and achieve their goals. sometimes this can be difficult if a procedure doesn’t exist that addresses a patient’s specific desired outcome. for this reason, the field of plastic surgery is continually working to evolve and improve. New technologies, new techniques, new applications for existing procedures – these are all ways that the industry seeks to ensure that there is something to offer to meet every need. The result is that everyone has the chance to look and feel their best. Here are some examples of some of the latest offerings in the field of plastic surgery.

Poly-L-Lactic acids
New facial injectables induce natural collagen growth slowly over time, so there is not a sudden noticeable change in appearance. Collagen is a fibrous protein in the dermis that gives structure to the skin. as it is lost with age and environmental damage, the skin loses its ability to maintain elasticity and retain moisture.

Depending on the patient, typically three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The result is a smoothing out of facial wrinkles, and folds that lasts about two years.

Dimpleplasty is a minor, low risk plastic surgery procedure that enhances one’s smile through the creation of dimples. The surgery is popular with both men and women. It takes about 10 minutes to perform and recovery entails about a week of bruising. Obviously, the procedure achieves a very specific look.

Dermal fillers to treat migraines
Following nearly a decade of research and studies, plastic surgeons are beginning to offer a new option for the thousands of Americans who suffer from migraines. Dermal fillers have been found to effectively freeze the muscles around the nerves that cause the severe headaches providing relief. It is an expensive treatment option but may be well worth it to those it helps.

New treatment for varicose veins
Up until now, the best option for getting rid of varicose veins was surgical removal, which has about a 25 percent recurrence rate. Now, endovenous laser ablation offers a new option to rid patients of these veins that have become enlarged and visible below the skin. The condition affects about 15 to 25 percent of adults, who are most commonly affected in the legs. The minimally invasive laser treatment can typically done in less than an hour and has bee shown to have about a five percent recurrence rate.

Caine’s arcade: the boy who built his own games arcade

All that was lacking was the customers. Business at Smart Parts, set up by George’s father in 1955, is now mainly conducted online; footfall is low. Caine waited all summer until one day in September Nirvan Mullick, a documentary maker, called into the shop, looking for a door handle for his Toyota.

‘There were all these boxes in the storefront and a boy with a bright blue shirt and a big smile. He asked me if I’d like to play his arcade,’ Mullick, 37, says. ‘I could tell he had spent a long time working on this. He told me it was $1 for four turns or $2 for a fun pass – 500 turns. I bought a fun pass.’

When Caine crawled inside one of the boxes to push out a ticket ‘my heart and mind exploded,’ Mullick says. ‘It took me back to when I was nine, and how much I loved making things and being imaginative. That was why I got into animation and filmmaking, because of the joy of creating things.’

Speaking to George afterwards, Mullick was astounded to learn he was Caine’s first customer.

A former philosophy student, Mullick had become obsessed with the idea of creating (and then filming) the perfect moment. ‘The idea I kept exploring in my work was what if you could look into a stranger’s heart and know instantly what would make them happier than anything else in the world and choreograph that perfectly and then film it. When I met Caine I knew what would make him happier than anything else in the world.’

Mullick organised a ‘flashmob’ on Facebook, inviting strangers to turn up, en masse, to the arcade. When Caine arrived for work with his father on October 2 there was a queue of about 100 people with homemade signs, chanting, ‘We want to play!’ Mullick filmed the whole day. in the film, after he has served his last customer, an exhausted Caine asks Mullick, ‘Was that real life or was I just dreaming?’ then, more certain and with a huge grin, he says, ‘They were real people, that was real life and they were really playing the games.’

With other projects on the go Mullick sat on his film for six months. but with his 37th birthday approaching he decided to finish the edit, ‘before Caine grew up and got into girls or something’.

He spent his birthday editing and decided to add a link that gave the viewers the option to contribute towards Caine’s university education. ‘I set the goal of $25,000, which my girlfriend thought was too high, but I thought I might as well try,’ Mullick says. the next day, April 9, he posted the video on the website Vimeo and went climbing to celebrate finishing his labour of love. When he left the climbing wall the fund had hit $300. By the time he went to bed it was $6,000.

Now, after more than six million people worldwide have viewed the video on Vimeo and YouTube, the fund has passed $200,000. George has told Mullick he plans to use some of the money now to get Caine a tutor; while he is quick at maths (his first response to hearing how much money his fund had raised was to work out how many fun passes he would have had to sell to earn that), he struggles with basic reading. George would like to educate his son privately when he reaches high school age.

As the money went up, Mullick set up the Imagination Foundation to foster and fund creativity and entrepreneurship in other children like Caine. For every dollar donated to Caine’s scholarship fund, a Los Angeles-based family foundation has promised to contribute the same amount (up to $250,000) to the Imagination Foundation. later this month the foundation will help to run a Caine’s Arcade Week at 50 schools around the world, where children will build arcades and use them as learning tools for maths skills, business, marketing and arts and crafts. ‘We asked Caine how he felt about the foundation and he said he was really happy to help other kids get an education,’ Mullick says. ‘He’s got the mind of a businessman and the heart of a social entrepreneur.’

The relationship between George and Caine was one of the key elements that prompted Mullick to make the film, he says, ‘because it reminded me of my own father who largely raised me’. it has also affected those who have visited the arcade. Mullick tells of an animator on the Simpsons who came to the arcade one weekend (as thousands of people have been doing, waiting for up to two hours to play). ‘He had seen the film and it made him tear up so he came with his wife and kids. When he got there he kind of collapsed and started weeping. this guy said that he didn’t have that relationship with his father that he saw between Caine and George. He said that it was a bitter disappointment that his own father didn’t live to see how he had made a living out of his creativity.’

George has become an online star in his own right, lauded for his ‘anti-tiger dad’ parenting approach. Mullick says that parents worldwide have been sending him videos of their own children’s cardboard creations, saying they have been inspired by George to just let their children play, rather than try to entertain them with video games and expensive outings. ‘We have had parents commenting on the video saying that they will let their kids make a bit more of a mess and not insist they clean it up straight away,’ Mullick says. ‘To me that is real world change. it is small but tangible.’

The story took a sad turn last month when George suffered a heart attack and had to have surgery. He has been flooded with messages from well-wishers. He is currently recovering at home, taking a break from the full-time support role he has provided to Caine’s flourishing business.

‘He hasn’t had time to do his regular deliveries for his car parts business,’ Mullick says, ‘because he’s so busy helping Caine sell fun passes.’

Mullick sees Caine every weekend, and takes him on outings. ‘The best was when a guy from the Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory contacted me to say that he loved the film,’ Mullick says. ‘He remembered making rockets out of cardboard when he was a little boy and now he makes real ones. So he invited Caine over. We went with George and my dad, and Caine thought it was awesome.’

Apart from his scholarship fund, the change in Caine’s life has been enormous in lots of small ways. Where once he was too scared to wear his blue ‘Caine’s Arcade’ T-shirt because the children at school teased him for ‘pretending’ he had an arcade, he now wears it with pride. George says Caine’s confidence has increased so much that the stutter he once had when talking to strangers has disappeared. the success of his arcade has changed his future ambition from wanting to be a member of a SWAT team to wanting to be a game designer. He has all the signs of becoming a serial entrepreneur: he is currently designing wallets made out of duct tape, and Forbes magazine has predicted that he will be a billionaire by the time he is 30.

Doors have opened for Mullick too, with Hollywood interest in a feature-length version of the film – something that will only increase Caine’s levels of fame. but whatever happens, Mullick and the Monroys are determined to protect Caine. ‘We’re all looking out for him, but he comes from a very grounded place,’ Mullick says. ‘Fame for him just means he gets more customers for his arcade.’

About face on plastic surgery: Putting teens under the knife in the spotlight

When it comes to teens and plastic surgery, there seems to be two schools of thought: do it. Don’t do it.

Both sides make sense, which makes the decision a hard one for parents, doctors and the teens themselves. More and more, families face the question. a quick Internet search reveals jaw-dropping statistics in terms of how many teens are having elective plastic surgery—on everything from their breasts to their noses. to fit in, to feel better about themselves, to fix something in their lives that isn’t working. bottom line: upwards of 200,000 American teenagers from 13 to 19 have elective plastic surgery every year. And some girls as young as 10 are doing things to change their bodies. (The daughter of a plastic surgeon had Dad change her belly button from an “outie” to an “innie.”)

It’s hard to determine which way to go. Parents are faced with decisions every day: everything from ear tucks to get rid of “elephant” ears, to Botox injections to lift a droopy smile, to enlarging a bust-line that doesn’t fill out even the smallest cup-size. Not to mention changing big noses that draw jeers from peers.

Doctors and parents often have to help a teen make a mature decision, one that may be beyond her years in terms of wisdom and knowledge—and that deep desire to fit in. can a teen really understand the complications of surgery—from intense pain, a botched operation or a bad reaction to anesthetic—or will those deep feelings of teen invulnerability overtake them?

Many teens really do suffer ostracism and bullying because there’s something different about their bodies. And some doctors will ask the family, “Why put yourself out there for abuse when the ‘fix’ is so easy?” But other doctors see this sort of situation as a life-changer in the opposite direction. They will tell parents and their children to take this as an opportunity to stand up and build some character. to use the bullying as a way to soul-search, to go deep within themselves to understand that abuse is really the problem of the bully. Not the youngster with small breasts or a big nose.

Some sociologists even see these questions about plastic surgery as a jumping-off point to confront society—to stifle the problem of bullying and teasing and young people’s feelings of not fitting in—instead of surgically changing the body parts of insecure teenagers.

Meet Sebella Rose Winter

No need to explain to all of us who have had children…we’ve been there and understand!

btw…my 11 1/2 yr. old daughter’s middle name is also Rose.

Beautiful family

Always have thought Roselyn was lovely, and seems so nice. I’m happy for them and their daughter is precious! I love the name; It reflects her heritage and sounds so pretty! What a cute family!

At the very first sight of Sebella’s name I thought they named her Cebolla (onion in spanish). these days with celebrity kids being named after fruits and colors nice to know it was just sleep deprivation that played tricks with my eyes. LOL!!!! beautiful photo of the new family. many congrats to them.

Beautiful name! the pic of the mom is horrible though. her eyes, nose and smile look so distorted that she looks evil! I am sure she is beautiful in real life though.

I don’t see anything wrong with Roselyn’s looks. to me it just looks like the camera caught her with an awkward expression. And speaking of expressions…I can’t stop cracking up at Sebella’s! It looks like she’s thinking, “How did I end up with these crazy people?!” (before anyone jumps on me, that is NOT meant in any way as a slam against Roselyn or Eric! I don’t think there’s a single one of us who doesn’t at times think their parents are crazy -in a good way!-, and I was just joking that Sebella appears to already be thinking that of her parents!)

How to Get Rid of Moles – Why Laser Surgery Might Not Be Your Best Choice to Remove Your Moles?

After reading through the possibilities of how to get rid of moles using natural methods in the Internet, I actually found another method – the Laser Method. I never tried this method before personally because this does not suit me.

Last April, my boss came in the office with a dazzling smile, showing us his new, polished face. his BIG mole on his right cheek is gone I desperately asked him how did he do that and he told me he went for a laser. then, he gave me a name card of the dermatologist that conducted the laser surgery.

I went for a consultation last June with this dermatologist in my town (she is a specialist, the only one in town actually, that’s why she is so popular). after some diagnosis, she told me that Laser Mole Removal will not work on me because my moles are protruding moles and laser method cannot penetrate deep enough to remove it.

On the spot, I told her. Hey, doctor, I’m paying you money just to remove these tiny moles, I thought Laser is very powerful, and now you are telling me that my moles cannot be removed. are you kidding me? (I think she is jealous of me because I’m going to be extremely handsome after the moles removal) I’m very frustrated at that moment, what MOLES on earth am I having, that cannot even be removed by the powerful laser method??? Why why why, why don’t these moles grow on my boss’ face but on my face? he is ugly and fat, 2 more moles on his face will not hurt him.

BUT Wait a minute, why the moles on my boss’ face can be removed but mine can’t?

She replied, with current technology, Laser method can only remove flat moles and pin size moles. Moles that are protruding out and large moles cannot be removed completely and will leave scars. because large moles require longer time, the patients will feel very pain, and the risk of getting infection will be higher. besides, it will require more sessions to remove those moles (each session is around $50 $100), which is a waste of money (my boss is rich, not a big deal for him).

In conclusion, when it comes to how to get rid of moles, you should consider following :

i) are you rich and willing to pay $50 to remove a mole? not to say that you might need more than 1 session to remove your mole.
ii) what kind of moles you have?
iii) are you willing to take the risk of getting scars?

I think I will just stick to natural methods on how to get rid of moles, which are safer and more reliable.

Creating Artificial Dimples

From the perfect nose, to the perfect ears, and that cute face, absolutely devoid of any scars, lines and wrinkles; plastic surgery can endow anyone with almost any beautiful feature that is desired. yes, it is true and in fact a huge phenomenon that people can actually get flawless beauty and perfection. What more, all this can be achieved with only a little time, some efforts and desire and of course, money. To add to this, if a skilled plastic surgeon with all the required certifications and a good practice along with an artistic touch performs the surgeries then you need not worry about a single thing because he can take care of every problem which might arise. Therefore if every feature on the face is perfect and the most suited to your profile, then is it possible to tweak one’s smile also? yes it is.

Creating artificial dimples is one of the most popular procedures today. You also get the cutest smile by a relatively simple operation. the good news is that in such an operation, the time effort and money required are not as high as in other cases. Just walk in a surgeon’s clinic with a plain Jane smile, without any attractiveness and walk out with the most gorgeous smile that will turn heads. .

So why not? There is nothing wrong in beautiful and if a smile adds loads of loveliness to one’s face, why not get one even if one has to get it artificially? more than a lack people in the world get certain body parts fixed that they are not satisfied and through a cosmetic surgery, get a more decent and suitable profile and personality. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood have got a plastic surgery done some or the other time and there is nothing wrong with getting one, whatever people might say. the fact of the matter is that no one likes ugliness and everyone wants to look pretty, by whatever means necessary. In the case of a smile, it is no big deal. Just some time, a little money and Presto! a gorgeous looking smile!

According to renowned surgeon, Dr. Toni Nassar, the procedure is an inexpensive, simple procedure that has become somewhat of a contagious trend. “Many women want to have artificial dimples to enhance the overall look of their smile.” Dr. Nassar further highlights that in some cases, the procedure may only take 10 minutes to create one or two dimples according to the shape and structure of the patient’s face. he reveals that it is often the case that women with a rounded face are more likely to go ahead with the procedure, as it further defines their shape.

The basic mechanism through which plastic surgeons all over the world create artificial dimples on the face is quite simple. it is in fact an artificial process which copies or rather simulates the natural method in which people get dimples on the face. a dimple is actually a defect on the face due to improper growth of the cheek muscles. If the muscles are not fully developed, then a slight depression is observed which makes the smile seem cuter than normal faces without the dimples. exactly, a punching biopsy device placed inside the inner cheek. this device rotates and in some time, the submucal fat is cut through the inside. the layers are then separated – the skin, cheek muscles and the submucal fat.

After the depression is created, a sort of cylindrical cavity is made inside the cheek. this cavity which makes the cheek ‘defected’ is closed by absorbable stitches. After the surgical knot is made, the skin has dimples which appear even without smiling. However, in week or two, the cheek and its muscles flatten out and then the plastic surgery dimples are seen only when the person smiles. this in fact happens because the muscle, which is hollowed pulls the cheek skin inward when the person smiles and hence this connection results in a cute dimple and an amazing smile.

So how exactly is a dimple surgically created?

A punch biopsy instrument is placed against the buccal mucosa (inner cheek) and circular motions are made to cut through the mucosa, submucosal fat, and cheek muscle. a circular core composed of these tissues is removed, leaving the skin intact, which will create a shallow cylindrical-shaped defect under the skin.

This ‘defect’ then is closed by placing an absorbable suture through the cheek muscle on one side of the defect, then through the dermis layer of the skin and finally through the cheek muscle on the other side of the defect. a surgical knot is tied, which in turn will result in dimpling of the skin even without smiling.

The skin will, however, flatten out in a week or two when the suture is absorbed. the internal scarring which takes place will connect the muscle to the skin, creating a dimple when one smiles.

The surgery can be performed on any kind of cheek, be it chubby or not. it would be easier if the cheeks are not too chubby. If someone wants dimples that are very prominent, a bigger punch biopsy will be used to be able to remove a bigger core of soft tissue.

Usually performed under local anaesthetic, the surgery is quick and normal activities can be resumed straight after the procedure. You walk in without a dimple and leave with your desired facial indents.

There is usually minimal swelling after, and the after care steps are just as simple and uncomplicated as the procedure. the after care usually involves regular mouth rinsing with Betadine oral antiseptic solution or Bactidol (chlorhexidine) solution, and antibiotic intake.

Basic Cosmetic Dentistry Prices

In the earlier days, cosmetic dentistry was supposed to be an area belonged to the rich and the elite. Cosmetic dentistry prices have never been a source of concern for the common man. with the advancement of the technology, innovative and cost effective methods came into existence and cosmetic dentistry gained popularity among different sections of the society. in these days, it can be said that the cosmetic dentistry has flourished in a very rapid manner and more and more people have been making use of the unlimited possibilities of these types of treatments.

A good smile radiates tremendous amount of positive energy. if you are gifted with a good smile the confidence and self esteem will get enhanced. People having some unattractive teeth become self conscious about this defect and a good smile will be an alien thing for them. the self confidence gets a beating and the relationships may suffer as well. that is where the relevance of cosmetic dentistry comes in and it can be described as a combination of art and science geared to improve the appearance, function and health of the teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry treatments can be classified into different categories and cosmetic dentistry prices differ with different kinds of treatments. Various types of cosmetic dentistry procedures include teeth whitening, bleaching procedures, porcelain veneers, dental implants, dental bonding, dental bridges, tooth contouring and reshaping, dentures, dental fillings, dental crowns, dental caps, root canals, accelerated orthodontics and cosmetic gum surgery.

Prolonged use of tobacco chewing, cigarettes, coffee, tea, spicy foods, medications, fluorides and injury, will form dental stains and the dental surgeon will make use of techniques like bleaching process with plastic trays and oral prophylaxis for teeth whitening. Cosmetic dentistry prices for teeth whitening in US are in the range of $400.00 – $900.00, depending on the severity of the problem and location. Treatments like porcelain crowns range from $975 per crown up to $2,100 and the Porcelain veneer procedures may cost around between $975 and $2200 depending upon the geographical location. All types of dental fillings will be charged in between $150 to $250 per filling. Cosmetic dentistry prices for bonding is estimated to be in the range of $300-$1,600 and the cost of dental crowns stand in between $950 per crown up to $2200. the cost for accelerated orthodontics or invisalign braces will be around $5000 to $7700 for a complete treatment.

In UK, the cost involved in tooth whitening will be around 300 to 1,000 and for dental veneers, you will be charged in between 300 to 2,000 per tooth. Cosmetic dentistry prices for crowns come in between 300 to 2,000 per tooth and dental implants will cost around 1200 to 2,500 per tooth. in the case of dental bridges, the cost will be around 250 to 800 per unit, depending upon the severity of the problem and the location. Tooth Gum contouring charges start with 400 and invisalign will cost you around 3000 to 6,000.

The advancement of the technology has reduced the recovery time to a great extent and you do not have to take long period of rest for the recovery process. Treatments like dental implants require a fair amount of rest because it involves two to three phases of treatments. the recovery period has a lot to do with individual and complicated treatments like implants may last up to 5 to 8 months. Naturally, cosmetic dentistry prices for these types of treatments will be on the higher side. Minor treatments like tooth whitening and dental veneers require only a week or so for the complete recovery.

Choosing the clinic or the dental surgeon assumes an importance of paramount because a minor error in the treatment can involve dangerous health implications. the successful outcome of the treatment has a lot to do with the efficiency of the dental surgeon. a general dentist may not be trained in the field of cosmetic dentistry and even in the case of a cosmetic dental surgeon; specialization in a particular area like dental implants or dental bonding or teeth whitening, should be taken in to consideration. the clinic and the surgeon can influence the dentistry prices and a suitable decision based on your budget will have to be taken. An extensive online search will make you familiarize with the quality of the dental surgeons in your area and various online directories will provide the profile pages of qualified dental surgeons for you. the cosmetic dentistry prices and the quality of the treatment should complement each other to fetch you the desired result. that is how a smile makeover becomes a qualitative and affordable one.

1 year later: Full face transplant recipient speaks out

BOSTON (WHDH) — Dallas Wiens of Texas spoke out about his life-changing surgery one year after receiving the nation’s first full facial transplant at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

“I go out all the time with my family, my friends, my little girl. I don't to worry about what anyone else is going to think. I’ve even been told by my family that I hardly get a second looks,” said Wiens.

in 2008, while painting a church, Wien’s head hit a high-voltage electrical wire, leaving him without any facial features.

A team of nearly 30 doctors from Brigham and Women’s Hospital preformed a 17-hour surgery. With numerous follow ups, surgeons say the progress Wiens has made is remarkable.

“every time that we see him in the clinic he’s doing more things, feeling more sensation. He’s starting to smile and you can see his expressions on his face,” said Chief of Plastic Surgery Dr. Jeffrey Janis.

“All transplant recipients are expected to have a rejection episode, but he’s the only patient in the world who has not had one,” said Director of Plastic Surgery Transplantation, Dr. Bohdan Pomahac.

Wiens says the best part is being able to be a father to his daughter, Scarlette, and being able to feel her kisses.

“she just ran up and gave me a kiss. as soon as she did, I broke into tears, tears of joy obviously, at just how amazing that was,” said Wiens.

Doctors said Wiens is a man that clearly defies all odds. Wiens now has prosthetic eyes and he’s hoping to eventually have teeth implants so he can regain full movement of his mouth.
