Apart from being widely renowned for its unique thermal and medical baths and spas, Budapest is also proud to be on the list of the most significant medical tourism centers of the world.  Krisztián Kummer

Various healthcare services attract tens of thousands of health tourists to Budapest each year, their number constantly increasing. Dental procedures are by far the most common forms of treatment that tourists travelling to Budapest require; however, there is a growing demand for other health-related services such as elective cosmetic surgery or eyesight correction.the health tourism sector is still in its developing period, but in highly developed countries, where treatment costs are getting higher and higher and waiting lists are full weeks or even months in advance, news of the possibility to get treatments abroad is spreading far and wide. While there are always some risks involved in taking medical treatment, whether at home or in a foreign country, most clinics abroad follow strict health guidelines and rules, very often more recognized than clinics in the US or the UK. a lot of patients have legal and subsequent treatment issues related to possible complications, but some procedures, such as dental treatment, are guaranteed; so it may well be financially worthwhile to return.”The outlook is definitely positive, but it largely depends on us, on what steps we can introduce to increase the number of patients. How can we, the service providers and the government together, outline the brand image of Hungary and put the country on the world map as a serious and reliable medical tourist destination,” said Erika Ladányi, owner and director of accredited medical tourism facilitator BeautyHungary. Health tourism is indeed a growing industry. according to Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, 1.6 million people are expected to head overseas for healthcare in 2012 from the United States alone. This number may rise by 20% every year, as the majority of Americans gave a C or worse when rating medical treatment in their country. however, sitting in the lobby of the clinic and waiting for patients to come is not enough to prosper. to gain an advantage over competing countries, more and more aggressive marketing strategies are required – much more than a website in English. On the one hand, facilitators are commonly used to lure patients. Most clinics cannot afford the required human resources (neither in numbers nor in knowledge and experience) to successfully gather patients from abroad. however, working closely with facilitators could increase customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness as well. On the other hand, patients’ own opinion is very important from the arrival through the reception and the treatment process to the subsequent relationship. “A good wine does not need advertisement,” as Hungarians say, and the best advertising is by word of mouth by patients returning home. And thirdly, on a larger scale, Hungary has to be present very clearly in the international healthcare industry through conferences, exhibitions etc. the government, the clinics, and related agencies must act together to introduce and promote Hungary before other countries with less capabilities but better marketing presence pass us by, Ladányi says.Answering the growing demand to link plastic surgery treatments with real touristic features, more and more clinics are opening at or near tourist destinations outside Budapest. in the small town of Hévíz, famous for its thermal lake, Zena Beauty & the Med Center opened a plastic surgery clinic at the end of late last year. there are two kinds of visitors in the clinic, said medical facility manager Mária Boronyák. there are those who at first only want to gather information on medical possibilities and proceed with preliminary investigations while enjoying the nearby thermal bath, and those who do not waste their time and ask for immediate treatment. While in most cases Zena is performing single-day surgeries, it has a number of rooms to meet the requirements of those who stay for a longer period, Boronyák said. four out of 10 patients arrive from abroad; 35% of them from Germany, 30% from Austria and, to some surprise, 30% come from Russia and Ukraine.according to the statistics of BeautyHungary, about 30% of all plastic surgery clients arrive from abroad, mainly from the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Italy, and other Western European countries. They stay in Hungary for 1 to 3 weeks on average and spend approximately €4,000-5,000. these visitors can save 40-80% on medical expenses, depending on the type of surgery ordered, the accommodation and spending habits of the patient, and the country of origin. however, the bankruptcy of Hungarian airlines Malév can hold back patients from visiting Hungary, worsening the balances of medical clinics. Access to Hungary is narrower due to the cancellation of many direct flights, and airline ticket prices have increased too. these phenomena mean less potential tourists – and less medical tourists among them, Ladányi says.

Teens and plastic surgery

Font Size:

BRYAN COUNTY, OK — Tens of thousands of teens underwent some form of plastic surgery last year. Kristen Shanahan tells us why people so young have these operations, and why one young woman says she had no choice.

More than 76,000 teens underwent some type of cosmetic procedure last year. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says nearly half of them got nose jobs and more than 8,000 girls between the ages of 13 and 19 got a breast augmentation.

Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Harry Galoob says teens wanting cosmetic surgery is nothing new, but in recent years he has seen more and more young girls wanting larger breasts.

“I suspect some of it is competition and some of it is the desire to have an appearance that is similar to some of their peers,” Dr. Galoob said.

Dr. Galoob says in many cases teens do not feel comfortable in their own skin and sometimes making these alterations can actually change their quality of life.

“A woman who is not developing at all who doesn’t feel feminine whether she is 18 or 28 I think has the right today because we are doing things much more predictably much more safely should be able to do those sorts of things. if their motivation is correct,” Dr. Galoob said.

However, there some young women like Natalie Lemons, who say they did not have a choice when it came to several, painful plastic surgeries.

On May 21st, 2003, Natalie was involved in a fatal car crash that killed her mother and 5-year-old niece. She was only 14-years-old, and dealing with the devastating tragedy was not the only hardship Natalie had to face at such a young age. She suffered major facial injuries when she was ejected from the vehicle.

“My face was completely, I mean, ripped apart,” Natalie said.

Since the accident she has been through at least 10 reconstructive surgeries. She also had to come to terms with her new appearance.

“You know everything’s about how pretty you are and I had to reevaluate my whole life,” Natalie said.

“It has taken a long time to get to where she is, but I think it’s been worth it, ” Dr. Galoob said.

Natalie says despite the heartbreak and physical pain she went through the support people showed her really opened her eyes.

“I’ve learned that beauty is something so much more then what’s physical. It has everything to do with who you are on the inside,” Natalie said.

She says everyone has their own scars and although it is hard not to be self conscious about appearances, there is a lot more to life and advises any teen who is considering plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons to think twice about it.

“I can tell you right now I’m so comfortable with my body. I mean I could find a million things wrong with my scars and with the way I am, and really I’m content with myself,” Natalie said.

“I’m always pleased when I see someone who has the where with all to succeed in spite of all the awful things that have happened to them. there is still that human spirit and it’s nice to see it show itself,” Dr. Galoob said.

Natalie says after the tragedy she went through she just feels lucky to be alive.

“I’m blessed to be alive. I mean there’s got to be a reason I’m still here,” Natalie said.

Ashley Judd's conversation about women's looks

The actress Ashley Judd set out this week to spark a conversation – and that’s exactly what she did.

She authored a piece for “The Daily Beast” with an eye-catching title: “Ashley Judd Slaps Media in the Face for Speculation over her ‘Puffy’ Appearance.” Tens of thousands of tweets, shares and comments later, a huge conversation is being had about how the media talks about women’s bodies.

It stems from a few of Judd’s television appearances in March to promote a new show. Tabloid reporters were more interested in Judd’s face than her show; they reported her face looked fuller then the gossip began.

Was she on drugs? Did plastic surgery go wrong? Did she need to have plastic surgery? yes, yes, and yes, they concluded. Judd says she couldn’t ignore it.

“I choose to address it because the conversation was pointedly nasty, gendered, and misogynistic and embodies what all girls and women in our culture, to a greater or lesser degree, endure every day, in ways both outrageous and subtle,” Judd wrote.

Throughout this week, her eloquent treatise continues to resonate with women across the country, but the critics are there, too. One online commenter wrote sarcastically, “It’s atrocious that such speculation should happen. After all, it’s not like movie stars go around begging for everyone’s attention and getting work done and going on diets they talk about endlessly and arranging for spontaneous pictures in parks with their kids.”

Is that a fair criticism? What’s your reaction to “the conversation?” Did it start one in your circle? Will it make a difference?

Newsom wrote, directed, and produced the 2011 Sundance documentary “Miss Representation,” which asserts that the media’s misrepresentations of women contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence.

Bariatric Surgery Basics and Weight Loss

Bariatric surgery is mainly recommended if you’re morbidly obese and if basic lifestyle changes are no longer enough to lose the excess weight. Generally those with a body mass index of 40 or more qualify for bariatric surgery. you should also keep in mind that while bariatric surgery helps you lose the excess weight, you’ll still need to eat healthier and exercise more to keep the weight off after the surgery.

When you meet with the doctor to discuss the surgery, he’ll tell you about the risks. some of the common symptoms that may occur after the surgery include nausea, lightheartedness and stomach cramps. you should also consider your budget because the average price of the surgery can be in the tens of thousands of dollars and your health insurance provider may not cover it.

Bariatric surgery seeks to restrict the amount of food and nutrients you store in your body. in gastric banding, the surgeon places a band around the top part of your stomach. The most popular form of gastric banding is LAP BAND. Gastroplasty, or stomach stapling, is when the surgeon seals off part of your stomach with staples, which is similar to gastric banding. in gastric bypass surgery, the surgeon removes the small intestine temporarily then attaches it to the stomach pouch and this helps you digest food better.

Once the bariatric surgery ends, you won’t be able to consume coffee, soft drinks and tea for the first three months because this may cause your stomach size to increase. You’ll also be put on a liquid diet which will include protein shakes, water and soups. Then you’ll be able to eat soft solid foods before going back to your regular diet. another thing you’ll want to do is eat slowly and eat in smaller portions. be sure to stop eating when you’re full because your stomach is smaller.

One benefit of this kind of weight loss surgery is that you reduce the health risks associated with obesity such as diabetes, kidney failure and sleep apnea. Bariatric surgery also makes it easier to consume food without re-gaining the weight, and you can move around better because the excess weight is gone. you reduce the pressure on your knees and legs, and you’re not as fatigued as you were before the surgery. Most importantly, weight loss surgery restores your self-esteem.

It’s important to research different bariatric surgeons to make sure they’re licensed and certified. Read customer reviews of different bariatric doctors to see what customers said about these physicians. ask friends who have had the procedure done and get recommendations from them.

A few months after the surgery, you want to continue to exercise and eat healthier meals. Also meet with a psychotherapist to discuss the root of the weight gain so that you won’t return to emotional eating as a way to relieve stress and anger. Get help from relatives when you’re tempted to go back to your old ways. A support group is important so that you don’t fall back into old habits.

2 Surgery Free Suggestions To Lift And Tighten Your Butt

Most people are familiar with the idea of plastic surgery. That term has always had different meanings, ranging from breast augmentations, to face lifts, or reconstructive surgery. In recent years this term now would seem to also include a surgical procedure that lifts and tightens the butt. Today, the reshaping of someones body using surgery seems to have no bounds.

When it comes to the subject of getting a butt lift, there is no shortage of information and products available to lead you in any direction or accomplish the task. the information that you could find seems to fall into one of three categories. the good, the bad, and others that are, well let’s just say down right ridiculous. Doing a simple online search of terms like butt lift or butt lifting exercise can yield tens of millions of results from any of your favorite search engines.

To help narrow down the field of butt raising options, I dedicated this article to the two most prominent non-surgical products that claim to help you attain that ever so elusive goal, of the super model bum. If a surgical procedure is what you are looking for, there’s a plethora of doctors actively advertising their services all over the country that would gladly help you out. If however, you are not a fan of non-necessary evasive surgery, consider either the Flex Mini or the Brazil Butt Lift exercise as a suitable alternative. let us begin by highlighting a few features of each product.

The Flex Mini: In general terms, the Flex mini is described as a no exercise, no effort device that strengthens the major butt muscles using electric pulses. it requires no assembly, uses no batteries and can be plugged directly into an outlet for a consistent supply of electricity. the Flex Mini also claims to be FDA approved which is very unique to this type of device. Granted, FDA approval is not required of any product that claims to help in shaping a particular body part or helping you lose weight. Therefore this could be a mute point.

The Flex Mini is ideally designed for someone who does not want to or have the capability to engage in focused exercise for several weeks. this fact alone is what sets the Flex Mini apart from the Brazil Butt Lift. this does not mean that it is superior, just an alternative. the device does not require exercise of any kind. the claimed results are not in any way tied to your form or amount of strenuous activity you engage in.

The Brazil Butt Lift: a workout program that focuses on toning, tightening and raising the major areas that make up your butt. this is an exercise program and requires exercise and hard work on your part to see results. Comprised of several DVD workouts featuring world-class trainer to Victoria Secret models Leandro Carvalho, Brazil Butt Lift uses a unique system of exercises to help lift your butt. the system is referred to as the Triangular Training Method targeting all 3 major muscles of the butt, engaging them from different angles.

The Brazil Butt Lift comes with 6 different workouts on 3 DVD’s. In addition you are not left alone to figure out what to eat, how often to workout and when to rest. the program comes complete with a customized workout calendar, a recipe book with all kinds of low calorie choices, a resistance band, and guide that warms you up for 6 days before the actual program begins. with BBL you’re provided everything you need to see radical results without taking radical measures, assuming you’re willing to put forth the time and energy.

When examining either option above it’s best to think long and hard about your own likes and dislikes as well as your circumstances before making a decision. Personally I would choose an exercise based workout like Brazil Butt Lift because it lends itself to overall better health over a device. however, if an exercise program is out of reach right now due to health conditions or limited strength and stamina, perhaps consider the Flex Mini. In any event, if a non-surgical direction is what you’re after either choice would suffice.

By Georgina Littlejohn

Last updated at 12:29 PM on 15th February 2012

She spent tens of thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery to make her face and body the picture of perfection.

But even Heidi Montag needs a splash of mascara or lip gloss just like the rest of us when we’re facing the world and the cameras.

The reality TV star was in Los Angeles yesterday looking very fresh-faced as she left a petrol station.

Fresh-faced: Heidi Montag tries to hide her blotchy and pale skin as she stepped out in LA yesterday

Her blonde hair was tied back from her make-up free face which sported a few blotches and looked a bit pale.

Although that might have been due to her baulking at the cameras as she and Pratt made their way back to their car.

She still managed to keep her bling going though as she flashed an expensive watch and diamond earrings.

Something to hide, Heidi? the reality TV star puts her hand up to her face as soon as she spots the cameras

Heidi is known for her love of plastic surgery which has tranformed her looks over the past couple of years.

She spent $30,000 on ten operations including breast implants which boosted them to DDDs, a brow lift, a nose job revision, liposuction on her stomach and thighs, a bottom  augmentation, her ears pinned back and her chin reduced.

Letting himself go: Heidi’s husband Spencer Pratt looked like he’d gained a few pounds, his protruding belly clear to see under his polo shirt

Quick, to the car! Heidi and Spencer looked like they were in a bit of hurry as they dashed past the cameras

She also claimed last week to have recently shed 27 pounds by spending  14 hours a day to transform her figure.

I’vebeen working out really hard because I had this pool party and I was like, I have to be in shape,’ she revealed to Us Magazine.

Spencer, 28, once a lean and fit young man, not only looked ten years older – despite his baby face – butalso looked like he hadn’t been to the gym for a while.

The $30,000 body: Heidi showed off the result of all her cosmetic surgery operations last summer

Wearing a light blue polo shirt, his protruding belly was clear to see underneath as he carried a couple of water bottles.

The couple have fallen from grace in the last year or so, after being among the biggest reality TVs tars in the States.

Spencer, 28, is now a studious undergraduate and has enrolled in a political science degree at the University of Southern California but she still very much has her finger on the Hollywood pulse and is still seen mingling with the celebrities at star-studded parties.

Flight diverted to Florida for ‘unruly’ couple

ATLANTA: Officials say a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Costa Rica was diverted to Tampa, Florida, on Sunday evening after a couple from Germany became unruly.

Delta spokeswoman Chris Kelly Singley said Flight 414 departed Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 6 pm on Sunday and landed at Tampa International Airport at 7:34 pm. the captain made the call to land, the spokeswoman said. after the "unruly" passengers were removed, the plane went on to Costa Rica, she said.

Tampa International Airport spokeswoman Janet Zink identified the passengers as Peter and Gabriele Strohmaier of Dusseldorf, Germany. She said they were seated in first class and demanding food and champagne and refused to sit down.

Zink said no charges had been filled. the FBI and Transportation Security Administration were investigating.

Reached at the Tampa hotel where the couple was spending Sunday night, Gabriele Strohmaier said that a Delta crew member "exaggerated enormously and felt terribly insulted" after her husband raised concerns about the food and beverage service.

She said her husband had asked for a glass of champagne, but was told it was all gone. She said the crew member then walked away rather than listen to his concerns. She denied that she or her husband was told to sit down and refused.

"No, we were not standing," she said.

Peter Strohmaier, who identified himself as a lawyer, said he "did nothing except to say I would like to have the meal and so on…all normal things."

He said the Delta crew member told him she was not pleased with his attitude.

"I am not prepared to accept such behavior," he said, adding that in the end he didn’t get champagne, a meal or even water. the couple had flown to the US from Germany earlier in the day.

Gabriele Strohmaier said the couple need to "take another airline, naturally not Delta" to get to Costa Rica

Santa Visits the Girl Who Was Born Twice at Texas Children’s Hospital

For the past 17 years, Timothy Bella’s father has been dressing up as Santa Claus to bring gifts to kids at the nation’s largest children’s hospital.

SantaNationalPost.jpg

When I was six, I didn’t believe that the man dressed as SantaClaus was actually Kris Kringle. Turned out, I was right. It was myfather. (Between you and me, I still don’t think he’s gotten over the night Iinformed him that the Santa who had dropped off a Stimpy doll minutes earlierwas a fake.) He’s been playing Santa for 34 years, 17 of which have includedvisits to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, the nation’s largestfreestanding children’s hospital with the bittersweet distinction of having morethan 400 beds in use.

This year, I decided to see for myself what my fatherdoes around the holidays. Walking into the hospital, I find three Santas, around 30 volunteers, and tens of thousands of dollars worth of donated gifts, from boxes of Barbies to board games to basketballs, each gift bundle assembledfor ages 0 to 18. There’s even a bag for a 24-day-old baby boy.

Being Santa at a children’shospital has its own dynamic, Dad tells me. It serves as more of a generaldistraction than pure entertainment. Conversation ranges from the kids’ favoriteschool activities to whether LSU and Alabama can score more than 15 totalpoints in the BCS Title Game, but it never centers on their medical conditionor when they’re going home. for some, that day will never come.

“I can hide a lot of emotion under my beard,” Dad says.

Going room to room, my father — in his velvet red suit, white wig and beard, white gloves, black boots, and gold glasses — surveys thehallways. There are rooms with pink signs, meaning Santa cannot enter because thechild’s condition doesn’t allow for it. In between rooms, Dad reminds me oflast year’s run-in with several players from the Houston Texans, who had alsocome to visit the children. Santa, a Texans season-ticket holder, pointed hisindex finger in the direction of quarterback Matt Schaub and others, and, in somany words, ordered them to stop slacking off. (After going 6-10 last year, theTexans are making the franchise’s first playoff appearance this season.Coincidence?)

the tumor was growing so rapidly on Macie’s tailbone that it was stealing blood her body needed to develop properly.

Meeting with a hospital official, I’m invited to speak to apatient and her family.

”You have tomeet Macie McCartney,” she tells me. “She was the baby born twice.”

“Wait, say that again?” I ask.

“She was born twice.”

Macie McCartney doesn’t know it, but four years ago, doctors didn’t expect her to be here today. On February 15, 2008, just 23 weeks into her pregnancy, Keri McCartneyand her husband, Chad, went in for an ultrasound to find out the gender of theirfifth child. Keri was hoping for a girl. during the examination, the sonogramtech looked around the room, remaining quiet. Finally, she spoke.

“She said the baby had a very large mass growing on hertailbone,” Keri McCartney remembers. “She said, ‘It’s probably as big as thebaby.’ she told me right away it was sacrococcygeal teratoma.”

Keri and Chad learned that one in every 40,000 babiesdevelops this non-cancerous yet potentially fatal external tumor. the tumor, which turned out to be the size of a grapefruit, was growing so rapidly onMacie McCartney’s tailbone that it was stealing blood her body needed to developproperly inside her mother’s womb. Keri’s OB gave Macie a one-in-10 chance ofsurvival.

And the options were emotionally complicated and medicallyrisky: either Macie would have to be delivered at around 25 weeks, with thestrong possibility that she wouldn’t be able to live outside the womb, or doctorswould have to perform fetal surgery to take Macie out at 25 weeks, remove thetumor, and place her back into the womb to recover.

Less than two weeks after finding out about the tumor, theMcCartneys decided to go ahead with open fetal surgery, a procedure that hadbeen successfully completed fewer than 20 times worldwide. It would be thefirst time the operation would be conducted at Texas Children’s Hospital. Butwith Macie’s heart getting weaker by the day and excess fluid building uparound it, there wasn’t much time to deliberate.

On February 28, 2008, doctors performed a C-section, workingwith 80 percent of Macie’s body outside the womb while her head and upper bodyremained inside and blood continued to flow from her placenta. Keri McCartneyremembers nothing of the procedure; she told me she was given seven times thenormal dose of anesthesia so that her uterus would stay completely at easeduring the surgery.

“I just saw her little foot, her little leg,” Keri McCartneysays. “To see the size of the tumor next to her little leg just broke myheart.”

In the days following the surgery, Keri McCartney had ashort conversation with her husband, Chad. “The first thing I asked was, ‘IsMacie alive?’ He said, ‘Yeah, she made it.’ I said, ‘Did they get out thetumor?’ He said, ‘Yeah, they got the tumor.’”

Macie stayed in her mother’s womb for another 10 weeksbefore being born again on may 7, 2008, this time tumor-free. three yearslater,a six-inch scar runs downher tailbone and over her bottom, stitched up from recent plastic surgery. Twodrains hang from her side, serving as pouches for any fluid resulting from theprocedure. she may not be able to sit normally for a while, but last week’splastic surgery was the final scheduled operation for Macie McCartney. the three-year-oldtells doctors and her parents that she wants to have a butt that looks like hersister Mya’s.

Today, the little girl is playing with farm animal toys — rabbits, cows, zebras, chickens, anything but snakes — in her aqua-blue Disneyfairies T-shirt and purple-sequined headband. she is minutes away from being dischargedfrom Texas Children’s Hospital for what will likely be the final time. Uponhearing this news, I offer her a high-five. she doesn’t reciprocate, althoughshe does smile, still not quite sure what to think of me.

Her mother reflects on Macie’s upcoming release. “I thinkyou’re just reminded about what’s important in life and how blessed we reallyare and have been,” she says. “We don’t have all the Christmas preparationsready by any means, but we’re just so thankful that we can have hope.”

Meanwhile, Macie still believes in “him.”

“Oh my gosh, you’d better get ready,” Keri McCartney tellsher youngest daughter. “Is that Santa?”

I can hear my father’s bells jingling down the hall of the11th floor. Macie McCartney’s ears perk up at the sound of “Ho! Ho!Ho!” He is a few doors away, but she smiles, continuing to paint her Christmastree, looking out the glass window of the play center. Then, just as he hasdone for the past 34 years, he barrels in, banging the sleigh bells on his belt, wishing anyone within a few feet of him a Merry Christmas. Macie jumps up, hertubes still sticking out from underneath her shirt. the expression on her face– bright, curious, infinitely happy — was the one I had as a kid whenever theSanta with the familiar-sounding voice came back into my life right beforeevery Christmas.

My father showers Macie with gifts. she smiles, stillcurious about the man in the red suit. In exchange, she gives him the Christmas tree painting, which includesjust about every color except red. she signs her initials at the top.

“Santa loves you,” he tells her, hugging her. she gives hima high-five, and I accept the fact that a three-year-old will more readily givea high-five to Santa than to some reporter in a sports blazer.Minutes later, the mother and daughterare discharged from the hospital. Their family’s Christmas present has arriveda couple of days early.

Macie McCartney believes in Santa Claus. And if she does — well,I do, too.

“So how did that go?” my father asks me later, wanting tohear about my reporting. “Did it go well?”

“Yes, it did,” I tell him. “Thank you, Santa.”

Breast Implants For Everyone?

Gone are the days when silicone breast implants were reserved for Pamela Anderson-look-a-likes. Today tens of 1000′s of women in the UK are enhancing and reshaping their breasts.

Where previously it was mainly young, single girls having the operation, today plastic surgeons treat many middle-class women in their late 30s and early 40s. these women aren’t (usually) looking for Barbie doll figures ; they just want the breasts they had when they were 20.

The depressing fact of the matter is that however much you exercise and diet, your breasts will droop with age. Pregnancy and breast-feeding, along with gravity, take their toll and – since breast have no muscles – there’s not much you can do about it. Unless you go under the knife that is.

The good news is that silicone implants have got safer. a 2006 study by American surgeons found that, after 12 years, only 8% of women had any problems with their implants. and within that 8%, the main issues where discomfort rather than medical issues.

If you are thinking about having surgery here are a few MioBlog tips:

1. Research surgeons thoroughly. 2. make sure you feel totally comfortable with the surgeon and that he/she knows exactly what you want. 3. the surgeon should take detailed measurements of your breasts before the operation. a surgeon who doesn’t do this should not be trusted. 4. about 5% of women who have silicone implants get capsular contraction. This is when the breast hardens as a reaction to the foreign body inserted. 5. some women choose saline implants as a more ‘natural’ implant. However, saline breasts will feel cold in winter, as the saline does not conduct heat. 6. However good a pair of silicone breasts look, they won’t feel the same as ‘real’ boobs. This doesn’t have to be a negative, but it’s an important consideration.
